Bis[?-N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine-?N:N']disilver(I) bis(trifluoro-methane-sulfonate).

ABSTRACT: In the binuclear title compound, [Ag(2)(C(11)H(11)N(3))(2)](CF(3)O(3)S)(2), the complex cation is centrosymmetric, with the unique Ag(+) cation coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N 161.02?(7)°]. This set-up leads to the formation of a 14-membered cyclic dimer. The two pyridine rings coordinated to the Ag(+) cation are tilted by 80.19?(7)° with respect to each other. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cyclic dimer and the anion exist. A two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane is constructed by three weak Ag?(O,N) inter-actions as well as an F?F contact of 2.890?(4)?Å.

Project description:2,5-Bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thia-diazole (denoted L) has been found to act as a bidentate ligand in the monomeric title complex, [Cu(CF(3)O(3)S)(C(12)H(8)N(4)S)(2)(H(2)O)](CF(3)O(3)S). The complex shows a distorted octahedrally coordinated copper(II) cation which is linked to two thia-diazole ligands, one water mol-ecule and one trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion. The second trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion does not coordinate the copper(II) cation. Each thia-diazole ligand uses one pyridyl and one thia-diazole N atom for the coordination of copper. The N atom of the second non-coordinating pyridyl substituent is found on the same side of the 1,3,4-thia-diazole ring as the S atom. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate ions are involved in a three-dimensional network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. C-H?N inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(11)N(3), crystallizes with two mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. The geometries of both mol-ecules are very similar, with the exception of the torsion angles of the inter-ring chains; the values for C-N-C-C are 67.4?(5) and -69.3?(5)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl ring planes are 84.0?(2) and 83.2?(2)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title polymeric complex, {[Ag(C11H11N3)](CF3SO3)} n , there are two Ag(I) atoms, two N-(pyridin-3-ylmeth-yl)pyridine-2-amine ligands (A and B) and two CF3SO3 (-) anions. One Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related A ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N = 173.2 (3)°], forming a left-handed helical chain, while the other Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related B ligands in a bent arrangement [N-Ag-N = 157.1 (3)°], forming a right-handed helical chain. Both helical chains have the same pitch length [10.4007 (7) Å], propagate along the b-axis direction and are alternately arranged via Ag⋯Ag [3.0897 (12) Å] and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.564 (7) and 3.518 (6) Å], resulting in the formation of a two-dimensional supra-molecular network extending parallel to the ab plane. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur between the helical chains and the anions.

Distinct coordination modes are found for the bridging ligands, i.e., a μ(2),κ(2)-bridging mode involving pyridine N atoms for one ligand, and a μ(2),κ(4)-bridging mode, employing both pyridine N and amide O atoms for the remaining ligands. The Ag(+) cations, which are in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination, and the ligands combine to form a two-dimensional array parallel to (101); these arrays are connected into a three-dimensional structure by trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions via N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O, and C-F⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt, [Na(C(16)H(22)N(6))(2)]CF(3)SO(3), the Na(+) cation is coordinated by six N atoms from two tridentate tris-(3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)methane ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Na-N distances range from 2.427 (3) to 2.507 (3) Å, intra-ligand N-Na-N angles range from 74.71 (8) to 79.31 (9)°, and adjacent inter-ligand N-Na-N angles range between 100.42 (9) and 104.97 (9)°. The structure is twinned by inversion [occupancy factors = 0.50 (9)] and the trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion is disordered, with two end-over-end orientations of unequal occupancy [0.781 (3) and 0.219 (3)].

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(14)H(12)NS(+)·CF(3)SO(3) (-), N-H?O hydrogen bonds link cations and anions into ion pairs. Inversely oriented ion pairs form stacks through multidirectional ?-? inter-actions among the acridine units. The crystal structure features a network of C-H?O inter-actions among stacks and also long-range electrostatic inter-actions among ions. In the packing of the mol-ecules, the acridine units are nearly parallel in stacks or inclined at an angle of 33.07?(2)° in the four adjacent stacks with which they inter-act via weak C-H?O inter-actions. The methyl-sulfanyl group is twisted through an angle of 60.53?(2)° with respect to the acridine ring.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·C(9)H(7)N, was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate with isoquinoline and bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm). The dinuclear mol-ecule is located about a center of inversion and the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two dppm P atoms and one isoquinoline N atom, forming an eight-membered metalla ring. In addition, in the asymmetric unit, there is a half-mol-ecule of isoquinoline located about a center of inversion. Since this mol-ecule does not possess this symmetry, for one position in the ring there is superposition of both a C atom of a C-H group and the isoquinoline N atom. In the structure, the Ag-P distances [2.4296 (9) and 2.4368 (9) Å] agree with the corresponding distances in related structures, while the Ag-N bond length [2.489 (3) Å] is slightly longer than that in related structures. On the other hand, the P-Ag-P angle [156.44 (3)°] is much larger than the corresponding angles in related structures. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions do not coordinate to Ag(I) atoms. As is usually found for these anions, the -CF(3) group is disordered over two orientations [occupancies = 0.57 (12) and 0.43 (12)].
