[N,N-Bis(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)propanamine-κP,P']dichloridonickel(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [NiCl(2)(C(27)H(27)NP(2))], the Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by two chloride ions and two P atoms of the bidentate N,N-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)propyl ligand to generate a strongly distorted cis-NiCl(2)P(2) square-planar geometry for the metal ion. A NiP(2)N rhombus occurs within the chelating ligand.

Project description:In the crystal structure of title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(14)H(32)P(2))], the Ni(II) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and shows a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry, with a dihedral angle of 10.01 (8)° between the cis-Cl-Ni-Cl and cis-P-Ni-P planes. There is no significant inter-molecular inter-action except very weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. The crystal studied was a racemic twin.

Project description:In the title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(14)H(32)P(2))]·2C(12)H(9)N, the neutral [Ni(dppe)Cl(2)] complex [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diisopropyl-phosphan-yl)ethane] consists of a tetracoordinated Ni(2+) cation and has a crystallographic twofold axis passing through the metal atom and the mid-point of the CH(2)-CH(2) bond of the dppe ligand. The metal atom shows slight tetra-hedral distortion from an ideal square-planar coordination geometry, as reflected in the dihedral angle between NiCl(2) and NiP(2) planes of 15.32 (2)°. The 9H-carbazole ring system is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.022 Å). In the crystal packing, there are two symmetry-related 9H-carbazole mol-ecules between two adjacent Ni(II) complexes, with an angle between the carbazole mean planes of ca 77°.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(30)H(23)O(2)P(2))I], the divalent Ni atom is coordinated by two P atoms and one C atom from the 1,3-bis-[(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)-oxy]benzene ligand; the distorted square-planar geometry is completed by an iodide ligand. The largest distortions from ideal square-planar geometry are reflected in the P-Ni-P angle of 164.20 (2)° and the P-Ni-C angles of 82.09 (6) and 82.11 (6)°. The rather short Ni-C bond length [1.890 (2) Å] is anti-cipated in light of the much stronger trans influence of the aryl moiety compared to the iodide ligand. The P-bound phenyl rings adopt different orientations to minimize steric repulsion among themselves.

Project description:Facile ligand substitution is observed when the ruthenium chloride complex [Ru(η(5)-C(9)H(7))Cl(PPh(3))(2)] is treated with 1,4-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)butane in refluxing toluene yielding the title compound, [Ru(C(9)H(7))Cl(C(28)H(28)P(2))]. The Ru(II) atom has a typical piano-stool coordination, defined by the indenyl ligand, one Cl atom and two phosphanyl P atoms. The Ru-P bond lengths are 2.2502 (9) and 2.2968 (8) Å.

Project description:Facile ligand substitution is observed when the ruthenium chloride complex [Ru(η(5)-C(9)H(7))Cl(dppe)] (dppe is diphenylphosphanyl ethane) is treated with NaN(3) in refluxing ethanol, yielding the title compound, [Ru(η(5)-C(9)H(7))(N(3))(dppe)] or [Ru(C(9)H(7))(N(3))(C(26)H(24)P(2))]. The Ru(II) atom has a typical piano-stool coordination. The Ru-P bond lengths are 2.284 (2) and 2.235 (2) Å. NMR and MS analyses are in agreement with the structure of the title compound.

Project description:The title complex, [Au(2)Cl(2)(C(26)H(21)NP(2))], has an intra-molecular Au⋯Au inter-action of 3.1669 (4) Å, but no inter-molecular Au⋯Au inter-actions in the solid state. The Cl-Au-P bond angle of 176.84 (7)° is slightly distorted from linearity. The P-C bond length to the phenyl group is shorter [1.810 (7) Å] than the P-C bond length [1.876 (7) Å] to the bridging carbon, indicative of the flexibility of the bidentate bite of the ligand. The C-C N fragment is essentially linear at 179.5 (9)° and the C N bond length of 1.125 (11) Å indicates predominantly triple-bond character. In the crystal packing, there are no hydrogen-bonding or aurophilic inter-actions between the mol-ecules.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the non-solvate form of the title compound, [Au(2)Cl(2)(C(30)H(24)P(2))], two almost linear P-Au(I)-Cl units [175.87 (3) and 171.48 (3)°] are in a skewed arrangement with a Cl-Au⋯Au-Cl torsion angle of -65.29 (3)° so as to form an intra-molecular Au⋯Au inter-action [3.0563 (2) Å]. The complex mol-ecules are connected each other through inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions, giving a sheet structure parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The Pt(II) atom in the title compound, [Pt(C(29)H(31)NP(2))(2)](PF(6))(2)·2CH(2)Cl(2), is coordinated by four P atoms from two bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)pentyl-amine ligands with an average Pt-P distance of 2.300 (1) Å. The coordination around the Pt(II) atom shows a highly distorted square-planar geometry, as evidenced by the P-Pt-P bite angles of 70.45 (3) and 70.64 (3)°. The asymmetric unit contains two hexa-fluoridophosphate ions, the metal complex and two dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecules. One of the chloride atoms of one of the dichloro-methane mol-ecules is disordered over two sites in a 0.515 (3):0.485 (3) ratio. C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.
