ABSTRACT: In the title solvated complex, [NiCl(2)(C(31)H(27)NP(2))]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by two chloride ions and two P atoms of the chelating N,N-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)benzyl ligand to generate a strongly distorted cis-NiCl(2)P(2) square-planar geometry for the metal ion. In the crystal, the components are linked by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.

Project description:The Pt(II) atom in the title compound, [Pt(C(29)H(31)NP(2))(2)](PF(6))(2)·2CH(2)Cl(2), is coordinated by four P atoms from two bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)pentyl-amine ligands with an average Pt-P distance of 2.300 (1) Å. The coordination around the Pt(II) atom shows a highly distorted square-planar geometry, as evidenced by the P-Pt-P bite angles of 70.45 (3) and 70.64 (3)°. The asymmetric unit contains two hexa-fluoridophosphate ions, the metal complex and two dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecules. One of the chloride atoms of one of the dichloro-methane mol-ecules is disordered over two sites in a 0.515 (3):0.485 (3) ratio. C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C(38)H(30)OP(2)S·CH(2)Cl(2), belongs to the xanthene family of ligands containing S- and O-donor atoms in the central heterocylic ring. Positions 2 and 8 on the xanthene backbone are functionalized with methyl groups to allow for the selective functionalization of the backbone at positions 4 and 6 with diphenyl-phosphanyl units. The title compound shows a significant 'roof-like' bending along the axis of planarity involving the O- and S-donor atoms and the benzene rings, resulting in a dihedral angle between the mean planes of the benzene rings of 32.88 (13)°.

The cyclo-hexyl ring and one of the phenyl rings display 0.630 (7):0.37 (7) and 0.60 (2):0.40 (2) positional disorder, respectively. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule displays 0.526 (4):0.474 (4) positional disorder. C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

The Pt(II) complexes reveal a slightly distorted square-planar geometry with average Pt-P and Pt-Cl bond lengthss of 2.252 (8) and 2.363 (8) Å, respectively, and average P-Pt-P and Cl-Pt-Cl angles of 99.17 (8) and 87.1 (7)°, respectively.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), was determined to establish the coordination properties of the (phosphan-yl)benzyl-idene-methanamine ligand to platinum. In the unit cell two mol-ecules of cis-[PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)] are accompanied by a dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule. The square-planar Pt(2+) coordination sphere is slightly distorted with the bidentate ligand coordinated via the P and the amine N atoms, and the Cl atoms located cis at the two remaining coordination sites. Parts of the thiophene ring and the solvate molecule were modeled as disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.55 (2):0.45 (2) and 0.302 (10):0.198 (10), respectively. Weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, C(31)H(27)NP(2), the diphenyl-phosphanyl groups are staggered relative to the PNP backbone. The N atom is displaced by 0.219 (2) Å from the plane formed by the two P atoms and the methylene C atom. The angles around the N atom are 120.84 (16), 113.29 (16) and 120.57 (12)°, indicating that it exhibits a distorted trigonal-pyramidal geometry. There are no classical inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(14)H(32)P(2))], the Ni(II) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and shows a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry, with a dihedral angle of 10.01 (8)° between the cis-Cl-Ni-Cl and cis-P-Ni-P planes. There is no significant inter-molecular inter-action except very weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. The crystal studied was a racemic twin.
