ABSTRACT: The title compound, [In(2)(C(9)H(11))(4)(C(4)H(10)P)(2)], contains a centrosymmetric In(2)P(2) core with short inter-molecular In-P bonds. This core has acute P-In-P and obtuse In-P-In bond angles compared with other [R(2)InPR'(2)](2) analogues, due to the presence of the bulky aromatic substituents on the In atom and the non-sterically demanding ethyl substituents on the P atom.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Bi(2)(C(11)H(16)N)(4)(CO(3))], consists of a symmetrically bridging carbonato group which binds two [2-Et(2)NCH(2)C(6)H(4)](2)Bi units that are crystallographically related via a twofold rotation axis bis-ecting the carbonate group. The two Bi atoms and two of the C atoms directly bonded to bis-muth are quasi-planar [deviations of 0.323 (1) and 0.330 (9)Å for the Bi and C atoms, respectively] with the carbonate group. The remaining two ligands are in a trans arrangement relative to the quasi-planar (CBi)(2)CO(3) system. The metal atom is strongly coordinated by the N atom of one pendant arm [Bi-N = 2.739 (6) Å], almost trans to the O atom, while the N atom of the other pendant arm exhibits a weaker intra-molecular inter-action [Bi⋯N = 3.659 (7) Å] almost trans to a C atom. If both these intra-molecular N→Bi inter-actions per metal atom are considered, the overall coordination geometry at bis-muth becomes distorted square-pyramidal [(C,N)(2)BiO cores] and the compound can be described as a hypervalent 12-Bi-5 species. Additional quite short intra-molecular Bi⋯O inter-actions are also present [3.796 (8)-4.020 (9) Å]. Inter-molecular associations through weak η(6)⋯Bi inter-actions [Bi⋯centroid of benzene ring = 3.659 (1) Å] lead to a ribbon-like supra-molecular association.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(9)H(11))(2)] or Mes(2)Zn (Mes = mesityl = 2,4,6-trimethyl-phen-yl), crystallizes with a quarter of a mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The Zn(II) atom is in a strictly linear environment with a Zn-C bond length of 1.951?(5)?Å. Due to the imposed 2/m symmetry, both aromatic rings are coplanar. One of the methyl groups is disordered over two equally occupied positions.

Project description:The title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(21)H(33)P)(2)], forms a monomeric complex with a trans-square-planar coordination geometry about the Pd(II) atom which lies on an inversion centre. The Pd-P bond lengths are 2.3760 (13) Å, while the Pd-Cl bond lengths are 2.3172 (14) Å. The observed structure was found to be closely related to that of trans-dichloridobis[dicyclo-hex-yl(phen-yl)phosphane-κP]palladium(II), [PdCl(2){P(C(6)H(11))(2)(C(6)H(5))}(2)] [Burgoyne et al. Project description:The title binuclear compound, [W(2)Cl(6)(NO)(2)(C(10)H(22)P(2))(3)], contains two W atoms which are bridged by a bis-(diethyl-phosphino)-ethane (depe) ligand. The seven-coord-inated tungsten(II) centres display distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometries with trans nitrosyl and chloride ligands. The title mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. The ethane group of the non-bridging depe ligand is positionally disordered, with site-occupancy factors of 0.63 and 0.37. In the crystal structure, the binuclear mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. In addition, weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are also present.
