Each pair of double-stacked dications is surrounded by a ring of ten nitrate anions. An intricate three-dimensional N---H...O and N---H...(O,O) hydrogen-bonding network exists in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(2)(C(10)H(16)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·C(10)H(18)O(4)·2H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains one-half of the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex cation, one uncoordinated water molecule, one-half of a free sebaic acid (decanedioic acid) molecule that is also completed by inversion symmetry, and one disordered nitrate anion [occupancy ratio 0.454 (4):0.544 (6)]. The Mn(II) atoms are each octa-hedrally surrounded by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, one O atom from one carbonyl group of the bridging sebacate ligand and one O atom of a water mol-ecule. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the structure of the title mol-ecular salt, C10H18N2 (2+)·2NO3 (-), the dinitrate salt of 4-(N,N-di-ethyl-amino)-aniline, the two ethyl groups lie almost perpendicular to the plane of the benzene ring [the ring-to-ethyl C-C-N-C torsion angles are -59.5?(2) and 67.5?(3)°]. The aminium groups of the cation form inter-species N-H?O hydrogen bonds with the nitro O-atom acceptors of both anions, giving rise to chain substructures lying along c. The chains are linked via further N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (010). These sheets are linked by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title salt, C16H24N4 (2+)·2NO3 (-), both the cation and anion are placed in general positions, although the cation displays non-crystallographic inversion symmetry, with the aliphatic chain extended in an all-trans conformation. The benzene rings are almost parallel, with a dihedral angle between their mean planes of 3.3 (6)°. The nitrate ions are placed in the vicinity of the protonated amine groups, forming efficient N-H⋯O inter-ion hydrogen bonds. Each nitrate ion in the asymmetric unit bridges two symmetry-related cations, forming an R 4 (4)(18) ring, a common motif in organic ammonium nitrate salts. This results in the formation of chains along [010] with alternating cations and anions. The neutral amine groups are involved in slightly weaker N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the nitrate O atoms, and there are also a number of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds present. The resulting supra-molecular structure is based on a two-dimensional network extending in the ab plane.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)](NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by three bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, each forming a five-membered chelate ring. In the crystal, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present between the complex cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules lead to the formation of a four-membered ring water cluster, with a planar configuration. There were an additional five grossly disordered water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which were removed by the subroutine SQUEEZE; these were were excluded in the calculation of the molecular weight, etc. ?-? stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings are also observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.697?(2), 3.728?(2) and 3.761?(2)?Å].

The aqua ligands are involved in extensive hydrogen bonding to nitrate and 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione O atoms.

The five-membered chelate ring is in a gauche form, while the two six-membered chelate rings are in chair conformations. The crystal structure is stabilized by several hydrogen bonds.
