[Bis(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine-κ(3)N,N',N'']tricarbonyl-rhenium(I) bromide hemihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, fac-[Re(C(12)H(12)N(3))(CO)(3)]Br·0.5H(2)O, crystallizes with a cationic rhenium(I) unit, a bromide ion and half a water mol-ecule, situated on a twofold rotation axis, in the asymmetric unit. The Re(I) atom is facially surrounded by three carbonyl ligands and a tridentate bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine ligand in a distorted octahedral environment. N-H⋯Br, O-H⋯Br, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure and π-π stacking is also observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.669 (1) Å and 4.054 (1) Å], giving rise to a three-dimentional network. The mol-ecules pack in a head-to-head fashion along the ac plane.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CuBr(C18H18N4)]Br, there are three crystallographically independent cations. One of the cations exhibits positional disorder of the pyridin-2-yl-methyl groups over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.672 (8) and 0.328 (8). The outer-sphere bromine counter-ion is severely disordered over multiple sites. In each cation, the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by the four N atoms of the tris-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine ligand and one bromine and adopts a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(11)N(3), crystallizes with two mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. The geometries of both mol-ecules are very similar, with the exception of the torsion angles of the inter-ring chains; the values for C-N-C-C are 67.4?(5) and -69.3?(5)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl ring planes are 84.0?(2) and 83.2?(2)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the binuclear title compound, [Ag(2)(C(11)H(11)N(3))(2)](CF(3)O(3)S)(2), the complex cation is centrosymmetric, with the unique Ag(+) cation coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N 161.02?(7)°]. This set-up leads to the formation of a 14-membered cyclic dimer. The two pyridine rings coordinated to the Ag(+) cation are tilted by 80.19?(7)° with respect to each other. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cyclic dimer and the anion exist. A two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane is constructed by three weak Ag?(O,N) inter-actions as well as an F?F contact of 2.890?(4)?Å.

Project description:In the title salt, [Co(C(10)H(6)O(2))(C(18)H(18)N(4))](C(24)H(20)B)·C(3)H(6)O·0.5H(2)O, the Co(III) ion in the complex cation is six-coordinated in a rigid octa-hedral N(4)O(2) geometry. The asymmetric unit contains one complete [Co(C(10)H(6)O(2))(C(18)H(18)N(4))](+) unit, one tetraphenylborate counter-anion and one acetone and one water mol-ecule that is located on an inversion centre. All the features of the Co(III) ion are fully consistent with the formulation of the cation as a Co(3+)-catecholate complex. Variable-temperature magnetic measurements in the region 2-380?K show a obvious diamagnetism over the observed temperature range.

Short centroid-centroid distances [3.762 (5) and 3.867 (5) Å] between the aromatic rings of neighbouring cations suggest the existence of π-π inter-actions. Inter-molecular O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Br inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The pyridine rings of the title compound, C(18)H(23)N(3), are in a nearly perpendicular orientation relative to the plane defined by the three amino-bonded C atoms, making dihedral angles of 87.4 (1) ° and 84.2 (1) °. One of the pyridine N atoms acts as an hydrogen-bond acceptor for two pyridine C-H groups. By means of these intermolecular hydrogen bonds, the mol-ecules form a two-dimensional network parallel to the ab plane.
