Sodium penta-fluoro-phenyl-borate.

ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, Na[(C(6)F(5))BH(3)], is composed of discrete anions and cations. The sodium cations are surrounded by four anions with three short Na?B [2.848?(8), 2.842?(7) and 2.868?(8)?Å] and two short Na?F contacts [2.348?(5) and 2.392?(5)?Å], forming a three-dimensional network. The anion is the first structural example of a pentafluorophenyl ring carrying a BH(3) group.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(13)H(10)O)](C(24)H(20)B), consists of discrete [Cp*Ru(II)benzophenone] cations and tetra-phenyl-borate anions (Cp* = penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl). Tethering the Cp*Ru group to one aryl ring of benzophenone results in average values of 1.42?(1) and 1.38?(1)?Å for the C-C bond lengths in the Ru-tethered and untethered phenyl rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings of the benzophenone group is 50.5?(1)°.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(10)H(12)O)][B(C(6)H(5))(4)], crystallizes as discrete (?(5)-penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)Ru(?(6)-4-phenyl-butan-2-one)](+) cations and [BPh(4)](-) anions. In the cation, the non-H atoms of the butan-2-one group are approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.056?Å) and lie nearly perpendicular to the plane of the phenyl ring with a dihedral angle between the two planes of 69.3?(1)°. No significant C-H?O inter-actions are observed between the methyl and phenyl H atoms and the carbonyl O atom.

Project description:The title complex, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(10)H(13)NO(2))](C(24)H(20)B)·C(3)H(6)O, is related to the analogous O-methyl complex. The average Ru-C distance to the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) group is 2.19 (3) Å, and 2.21 (1) Å to the ortho, meta and para C atoms of the arene ring. The Ru-C(ipso) bond length of 2.272 (3) Å is significantly longer, reflecting movement of the Ru atom away from the C atoms with electronegative substituents attached. The amide H atom in the cation forms an inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond with the carbonyl O atom of the acetone solvent mol-ecule. A C-H⋯O inter-action also occurs.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(7)H(9)NO(2)S)]C(24)H(20)B, has been determined as part of our investigation into the structural and biological properties of organometallic Ru(II)-arene-Cp* complex salts of the type [R-PhRuCp*](+)·X(-) (where Cp* is penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene). Tethering the RuCp* group to the benzene ring of p-toluene-sulfonamide results in only minor changes to the mol-ecular geometry of the sulfonamide, but, together with crystallization as the [BPh(4)](-) salt, effectively blocks involvement of the sulfonamide group in N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding networks.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, C(44)H(38)P(2) (2+)2BF(4) (-), consists of discrete dications inter-laced with the BF(4) (-) counter-ions. In each cation, both phospho-nium groups lie on the same side of the plane of the central benzene ring. The tetra-fluoro-borate anions are involved in intensive thermal motion, thus some B-F bond lengths [range 1.329 (6) to 1.391 (6) Å] deviate significantly from their standard values.

Project description:The title compound, K[B(5)O(7)(OH)(2)], was obtained from a hydro-thermal reaction. The structure is composed of one K(+) cation and a polyborate (1) (∞)[B(5)O(7)(OH)(2)](-) anion, which consists of two six-membered rings linked by a common BO(4) tetra-hedron. The [B(5)O(7)(OH)(2)](-) units are linked together through two exocyclic O atoms to neighbouring units, forming a helical chain structure extending parallel to [010]. Adjacent chains are further connected into a three-dimensional structure by K-O bonds and weak O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt, C19H25N4O(+)·C24H20B(-), the C=N and C-N bond lengths in the CN3 unit are 1.3327?(8)/1.3364?(9) and 1.3802?(9)?Å, indicating double- and single-bond character, respectively. The N-C-N angles are 118.77?(6), 120.29?(6) and 120.81?(6)°, showing only a small deviation of the CN3 plane from an ideal trigonal-planar geometry. The bonds between the N atoms and the terminal methyl C atoms all have values close to a typical single bond [1.4636?(9)-1.4772?(9)?Å]. The crystal packing is caused by electrostatic inter-actions between cations and anions.
