ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C8H12N)3[SnBr6]Br, the anilinium N atom of one of the three unique cations exhibits flip-flop disorder with an 0.60:0.40 occupancy ratio. In the crystal, N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds link the N,N-di-methyl-anilinium cations and both Br(-) anions and [SnBr6](2-) dianions into a layered arrangement parallel to (001).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C7H10NO)2[SnBr6]·2H2O, contains one cation, one half-dianion and one lattice water mol-ecule. The [SnBr6](2-) dianion, located on an inversion center, exhibits a highly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, with Sn-Br bond lengths ranging from 2.2426 (9) to 3.0886 (13) Å. In the crystal, O-H⋯Br, N-H⋯Br, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds consolidate the packing, which can be described as consisting of alternating anionic (containing dianions and lattice water mol-ecules) and cationic layers parallel to ab plane.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(5)H(5)BrN)(2)[SnBr(6)], contains one cation and one half-anion. The [SnBr(6)](2-) anion is located on an inversion center and forms a quasi-regular octa-hedral arrangement. The crystal structure consists of two-dimensional supra-molecular layers assembled via hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of N-H⋯Br-Sn [D⋯A = 3.375 (13)-3.562 (13) Å and D-H⋯A = 127-142°, along with C-Br⋯Br synthons [3.667 (2) and 3.778 (3) Å]. These layers are parallel to the bc plane and built up from anions inter-acting extensively with the six surrounding cations.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(7)H(10)N)(2)[SnCl(6)]·2H(2)O, the Sn(IV) atom lies on a site with symmetry 2/m. One of the Cl atoms lies on a mirror plane and the 3-methyl-anilinium cation is also situated on a mirror plane. The water mol-ecule is located on a twofold rotation axis. The H atoms of the methyl and ammonium groups and the solvent water mol-ecule are disordered by symmetry. In the crystal, N-H?Cl, O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the organic cations, the inorganic octahedrally shaped anions and the water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compounds, [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2(H2O)2][Sn(CH3)3(CHO2)2] (1) and [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2]Cl·H2O (2), are partially condensed products of hydrolysed tri-methyl-tin chloride. In the structures of 1 and 2, short cationic tris-tannatoxanes (C9H29O2Sn3) are bridged by a diformatotri-methyl-tin anion or a chloride anion, respectively. Hydrogen bridges are present and supposedly stabilize these structures against further polymerization to the known polymeric tri-methyl-tin hydroxide. Especially noteworthy is that the formate present in this structure was formed from atmospheric CO2.

Project description:In the unit cell of the title compound, (C21H27N2)3[CoBr4]Br·6CHCl3, the tetrabromidocobaltate(II) anion and the bromide anion are located on a crystallographic threefold rotation axis. For the [CoBr4](2-) group, the axis runs through one of the Br ligands and the Co(II) atom. All other structure moieties lie on general sites. Various tris-(1,3-dimesityl-4,5-di-hydro-1H-imidazol-3-ium) structures with different counter-ions have been reported. In the title compound, the N-C-N angle is 113.7 (5)°, with short C-N bond lengths of 1.297 (7) and 1.307 (7) Å. The two mesityl planes make a dihedral angle of 34.6 (1)° and the dihedral angles between the mesityl and N-C-N planes are 82.0 (1) and 88.5 (1)°, respectively. The imidazoline ring is almost planar, with atom deviations in the range 0.003 (5)-0.017 (5) Å from the best plane; the mean deviation is 0.012 (5) Å. In the crystal, non-covalent inter-actions of the C-H⋯Br type occur between the Br(-) anion and the cation, as well as between the [CoBr4](2-) anion and both the chloro-form solvent mol-ecules. These H⋯A distances are slightly shorter than the sum of van der Waals radii.
