ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sn(CH3)3(C7H7N2O2S)(H2O)], the Sn(IV) atom has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry, with one carboxyl-ate O atom of the 2-(4-methyl-pyrimidine-2-sulfan-yl)acetate ligand and the O atom of a water mol-ecule in axial positions, and three methyl groups in equatorial positions. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming double-stranded chains propagating along [010].

Project description:In the title mononuclear complex, [Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(7)H(5)N(2)O(6))(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) ion is coordinated by three methyl groups in the equatorial plane, and by an O atom from a 2-methyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoate ligand and a dimethyl sulfoxide ligand in the axial sites, to form a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The O atoms of one of the nitro groups are disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancies of 0.55 (4) and 0.45 (4). The closest inter-molecular inter-action is a weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The Sn atom in the title polymeric compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(3)(C(8)H(12)NO(2)S(2))](n), exists in a trans-C(3)O(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment in the two independent formula units. The carboxyl-ate moiety functions in a bridging mode, linking adjacent triorganotin cations into a linear chain running along the shortest axis of the triclinic unit cell; the repeat distance of the polymer is half the a-axial length. In one formula unit, the Sn atom is displaced out of the equatorial plane in the direction of the Sn-O(covalent) bond by 0.093 (4) Å and in the second mol-ecule, the Sn atom is displaced by 0.105 (4) Å in the same direction.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(11)H(8)N(3)O(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)], the Zn(II) ion lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and two N atoms from two 2-[4-(4-pyrid-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylsulfan-yl]acetate (L) ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In L, the pyridine and pyrimidine rings are twisted at an angle of 11.2 (1)°. The coordinated water mol-ecules and the acetate groups are involved in the formation of a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network, which consolidates the crystal packing.

The Sn(IV) atom shows a distorted trans-C(3)SnO(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination and is displaced by 0.113 (2) Å out of the C(3)Sn girdle in the direction of the covalently bonded O atom. The ring is disordered of two positions with an occupancy of 0.631 (4) for the major occupied site.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)], contains two crystallography independent mol-ecules. In both mol-ecules, the Sn(IV) atom is seven-coordinated in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry with the two phenyl groups in axial positions. The two mol-ecules differ mainly in the torsion of the phenyl and pyridine rings. The dihredral angles between the phenyl rings are 89.54 (15) and 60.11 (14)° in the two mol-ecules while the dihedral angles between the pyridine rings and the acetate groups are 12.6 (2) and 41.77 (13)° in the two mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cd(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(20)H(16)N(6)S(2))]·3H(2)O}(n), exists as a one-dimensional zigzag polymer in which the Cd(II) ion shows a seven-coordinate [CdO(5)N(2)] distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry with the N atoms in axial positions and an N-Cd-N angle of 176.94 (13)°. The metal atoms are bridged by 1,2-bis-[4-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylsulfan-yl]ethane ligands, giving a polymeric chain extending along the b axis. Adjacent chains related by an inversion center are further bridged by Cd-O bonds formed between the O atom of one of the acetate ligands and the metal atom. The five Cd-O bond lengths are in the range 2.329 (3)-2.485 (3) Å. There are π-π stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of adjacent polymeric chains, the centroid-centroid distances being 3.556 (3) and 3.698 (3) Å, organizing the chains into a three-dimensional framework. This framework is additionally stabilized by extensive O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between water mol-ecules and the ligands.
