Crystal structure of {bis-[2-(3,5-di-methyl-pyrazol-1-yl-κN (2))eth-yl]amine-κN}chlorido-platinum(II) chloride dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [PtCl(C14H23N5)]Cl·2H2O, is isomorphous with the Pd(II) compound characterized previously [Mendoza, Bernès & Mendoza-Díaz (2006 ▶). Acta Cryst. E62, m2934-m2936]. The angle between pyrazole mean planes in the main ligand is 88.3 (4)°, similar to that observed in the Pd(II) analogue [87.62 (11)°]. This tridentate ligand adopts a conformation approximating a twofold symmetry, allowing its coordination to the metal atom, together with a chloride ligand, in an almost perfect square-planar geometry. A chloride anion and two water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit form a hydrogen-bonded network connected to the complex mol-ecules in the crystal via the NH amine groups, forming chains along [100].

Project description:The title compound, [PdCl(C(14)H(23)N(5))]Cl·0.25H(2)O, is a pseudopolymorph of the previously reported compound [PdCl(C(14)H(23)N(5))]Cl·2H(2)O [de Mendoza et al. (2006 ?). Acta Cryst. E62, m2934-m2936]. The cationic complex and chloride anion are disordered over two positions each in a 0.584?(4):0.416?(4) ratio. The geometry about the Pd atom is distorted square-planar. The pyrazole rings are almost perpendicular, forming a dihedral angle of 86.6?(6)° to each other, to mitigate steric conflict between their methyl groups.

Project description:The angles within the benzene ring in the title compound, C(30)H(49)N(3)O, ranging from 116.34 (16) to 124.18 (16)°, reflect the presence of electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents. The angles at the two electron-donating tert-butyl substituents are smaller than 120°, at the electron-withdrawing eth-oxy substituent larger than 120°, and at the imine substituent equal to 119.59 (16)°. The latter does not reflect the electron-donating nature of the imine group due to the presence of other substituents.

Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(5)H(9)N(3))(2)], the Co(II) atom adopts a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry provided by two chloride anions and two N atoms from the organic ligands. The dihedral angle between the pyrazole rings is 85.91 (10)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

A chloride ligand together with three coordinating P ligand atoms create a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment around the Pt(II) center. An inter-molecular water O-H⋯Cl(-) and water O-H⋯OP hydrogen-bond network completes the coordination around the anion. The molecule adapts a cis bridging mode with a C-Se-C angle of 102.13 (15)°. π-π stacking inter-actions are observed between the closest pyrazole rings of neighboring chains [centroid-centroid distance = 3.888 (1) Å] and hydrogen bonding occurs through bridging chloride anions and hydroxide groups. Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [CuCl2(C14H21F3N4)], adopts a coordination geometry that is between distorted square-based pyramidal and very Jahn-Teller-elongated octa-hedral. It is coordinated by three N atoms from the bis-(2-amino-eth-yl)(2-{[4-(tri-fluoro-meth-yl)benzyl-idene]amino}-eth-yl)amine and two chloride ligands. The two crystallographically unique copper complexes present in the asymmetric unit exhibit noticeable differences in the coordination bond lengths. Considering the Cu(II) atoms as having square-pyramidal geometry, the basal Cu-Cl bond lengths are typical [2.2701 (12) and 2.2777 (12) Å], while the apical distances are considerably elongated [2.8505 (12) and 2.9415 (12) Å]. For each mol-ecule, a Cu(II) atom from inversion-related mol-ecules are in nearby proximity to the remaining axial Cu(II) sites, but the Cu⋯Cl distances are very long [3.4056 (12) and 3.1645 (12) Å], attributable to van der Waals contacts. Nonetheless, these contacts appear to have some structure-directing properties, leading to association into dimers. These dimers associate via stacking of the aromatic rings to form extended zigzag chains.
