Crystal structure of the unusual coordination polymer catena-poly[[gold(I)-?-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphinothioyl)ethane-?2S:S?] dibromidoaurate(I)]1

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, the gold(I) centres of the cation are coordinated by the P=S groups of the disulfide ligands to form a chain polymer parallel to the c axis. Both independent gold atoms lie on the same twofold axis, and the midpoint of the H2C—CH2 bond lies on an inversion centre. The anions flank the polymeric chain; they are connected to it by short aurophilic interactions and C—H?Br contacts, and to each other by Br?Br contacts. In the title compound, {[Au(C26H24P2S2)][AuBr2]}n, the gold(I) centres of the cation are coordinated by the P=S groups of the disulfide ligands to form a chain polymer parallel to the c axis. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions. Non-coordinating dipyridinium dications are present between the thiocyanatoferrate(II) chains and are connected to the anions via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bond interactions.

Project description:In the title chain compound, [Ag(NO(3))(C(26)H(24)P(2))](n), the bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) units link the Ag(+) ions into chains along [001]. A nitrate anion is coordinated to the Ag atom. There is a centre of symmetry at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond and a twofold rotation axis passes through the Ag, N and terminal O atoms. Each Ag atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two O atoms of the nitrate anion and two P atoms of dppe ligands. The two aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 73.77 (3)°.

Project description:The reaction of cuprous bromide with a mixture of 1,1-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm: C25H22P2) and N-allyl-thio-urea (ATU: C4H8N2S) in aceto-nitrile yielded the title solvated dinuclear complex, [Cu2Br2(C4H8N2S)(C25H22P2)2]·2C2H3N or [Cu2Br2(ATU)(dppm)2]·2CH3CN. Both Cu(+) ions adopt distorted tetra-hedral geometries, being coordinated by one terminal Br atom, one μ(2)-S atom of the bridging ATU ligand and two P atoms of the bridging dppm ligands. Within the complex, intra-molecular C-H⋯S, C-H⋯π, N-H⋯Br and π-π stacking inter-actions are observed. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯Br and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and weak π-π stacking inter-actions, generating chains propagating in the [100] direction.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, {(C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbBr(4)]}(n), were grown at room temperature from a solution in N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) using nitro-methane as the poor solvent. This perovskite-type organic-inorganic hybrid compound consists of well ordered sheets of corner-sharing disordered PbBr(6) octa-hedra separated by bilayers of phenethyl-ammonium cations. The octa-hedra are rotated and tilted due to N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds with the ammonium groups, generating a superstructure in the unit cell similar to that of the tetra-chloridoplumbate (C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbCl(4)].
