ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(10)NS(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·CHCl(3), the Cd(II) atom exists in an all-cis distorted octa-hedral geometry. Chelation is isobidentate for one dithio-carbamate ligand and anisobidentate for the other. The chloroform solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.

Project description:The Cd(II) atom in the title compound, [Cd(C(5)H(10)NS(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], exists in an N(2)S(4) donor set defined by two chelating dithio-carbamate anions as well as a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. The coordination geometry approximates a trigonal prism. The crystal packing features weak C-H?S inter-actions, leading to linear supra-molecular chains along the a axis. The primary connections between these are by ?-? stacking inter-actions [ring centroid distance between centrosymmetrically related pyridyl rings = 3.7455?(10)?Å]. Overall, the crystal structure may be described as comprising double layers of mol-ecules that stack along the b axis.

The metal atom is chelated by two S,S'-bidentate dithio-carbamate anions and the N,N'-bidentate heterocycle, resulting in a distorted cis-ZnN(2)S(4) octa-hedral geometry. The methyl and ethyl groups of the anion are statistically disordered.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(9)H(10)NS(2))], has two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit and each features a tetra-hedrally coordinated Sn(IV) atom as the dithio-carbamate ligand coordinates in a monodentate fashion. As the non-coordinating thione S atom is proximate to the Sn atom [Sn?S(thione) = 3.1477?(6) and 2.9970?(5)?Å for the independent mol-ecules], distortions from the ideal geometry are evident [the widest angle being 120.48?(5)°]. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(8)N(2))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]NO(2)·CHCl(3)·0.5H(2)O, the Cu atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by a bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two PPh(3) ligands. The Cu-N and Cu-P distances are similar to those observed in similar compounds. The range of coordination angles shows a moderate distortion from ideal tetra-hedral geometry. The bipyridine ligand is twisted [14.2?(4)°] about the ring-ring C-C bond. The nitrate anion and the water and chloro-form mol-ecules of solvation are disordered. Project description:The crystal and mol-ecular structures of two tri-phenyl-tin di-thio-carbamate compounds, viz. [Sn(C6H5)3(C8H16NS2)], (I), and [Sn(C6H5)3(C10H12NS2)], (II), are described. The di-thio-carbamate ligand in each mol-ecule coordinates in an asymmetric fashion resulting in heavily distorted tetra-hedral C3S coordin-ation geometries for the Sn atoms, with the distortions traced to the close approach of the non-coordinating thione-S atom. The mol-ecular packing in both compounds features C-H??(Sn-phen-yl) inter-actions. In (I), the donors are Sn-phenyl-C-H groups leading to centrosymmetric aggregates, while in (II), the donors are both Sn-phenyl-C-H and methyl-C-H groups leading to supra-molecular chains propagating along the b axis. The identified aggregates assemble into their respective crystals with no directional inter-actions between them. An analysis of the Hirshfeld surfaces show distinctive patterns, but an overwhelming predominance (>99% in each case) of H?H, C?H/H?C and S?H/H?S contacts on the respective Hirshfeld surface.
