Tetra-butyl-ammonium butyl-tetra-chlorido-stannate(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [N(C4H9)4][Sn(C4H9)Cl4], the Sn(IV) atom of the stannate anion has a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination sphere by two Cl atoms and one butyl chain in the equatorial plane and by two Cl atoms in the apical positions. Two of the four butyl chains of the tetra-butyl-ammonium cation are partially disordered, each with refined site occupancies of 0.691?(6):0.309?(6). Weak C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions help to consolidate the crystal packing, as well as a short Cl?Cl inter-action of 3.295?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C6H5)2Cl4], contains cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cations in general positions and a stannate(IV) anion that is located on a twofold rotation axis. The Sn(IV) atom in the complex anion is surrounded by four Cl(-) ligands and two trans-phenyl groups in a distorted octa-hedral configuration. The anions are connected with the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Every cation is involved in three N-H?Cl bonds to the chloride ligands of three different anions, and each chloride ligand is linked to two cations. Project description:The title salt, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C2O4)Cl4], was obtained as a by-product from the reaction between 2C6H14N(+)·C2O4 (2-)·1.5H2O and SnCl2·2H2O. The cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cation has a chair conformation. The complex anion consists of an oxalate anion chelating the SnCl4 moiety, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere of the Sn(IV) atom with the O atoms in equatorial cis positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked through N-H?O and N-H?Cl inter-actions into a layered arrangement parallel to (100).

Project description:Regular crystals of the title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(2)[Sn(CH(3))(2)Cl(4)], were obtained by reacting SnMe(2)Cl(2) with (CH(3))(2)NH·HCl in ethanol in a 1:1 ratio. The Sn atom lies on a center of symmetry and is six-coordinated. It has a distorted octahedral SnC(2)Cl(4) environment with the Cl atoms in cis positions. The Cl atoms are connected to dimethyl-ammonium cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite chain extending parallel to [010].

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[SnCl(6)], crystallizes with one diisopropyl-ammonium cation lying on a general position and the hexa-chloridostannate(IV) anion about a centre of inversion. The [SnCl(6)](2-) anion undergoes a slight distortion from octa-hedral symmetry as the result of the formation of four unforked charge-supported N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Project description:In the structure of the title coordination polymer, {(C16H36N)[Sn2(CH3)6Cl(SO4)]} n , the two independent Sn(IV) atoms are coordinated in a trigonal-bipyramidal manner by three methyl groups in the equatorial plane and in the axial positions by either two O atoms of bridging SO4 (2-) anions or by a Cl atom and one O atom of a bridging SO4 (2-) anion, respectively. The [Sn2(CH3)6Cl(SO4)](-) anion forms an infinite zigzag chain parallel to the c axis. The cations are situated between these chains. Weak C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions help to consolidate the crystal packing.
