ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Cu(C(11)H(16)N(3)O)]ClO(4), consists of two Cu(II) ions coordinated by Schiff base ligands and two perchlorate anions. The Schiff base mol-ecules are linked to the Cu(II) atoms via three N atoms and one O atom, resulting in a square-planar geometry. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the NH groups as donors and O atoms of the perchlorate anions as acceptors are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(20)N(2)O(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Cu(II) atom in the complex dication is chelated by two phenolate O atoms and two imine N atoms from two zwitterionic 2-[2-(isopropyl-ammonio)ethyl-imino-meth-yl]-5-methoxy-phenolate ligands, forming a distorted square-planar geometry. One of the perchlorate anions is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.611?(15) and 0.389?(15). Intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed in the complex dication.
