ABSTRACT: The title Schiff base complex, [V(C(13)H(10)N(3)O(2))O(2)], features a square-pyramidal coordination geometry defined by the O,N',O'-donors of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and two oxide O atoms; one oxide O atom occupies the apical position. In the crystal, pyridinium-oxide N-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to zigzag supra-molecular chains with a flattened topology along [101]. The investigated crystal was twinned by nonmerohedry; the minor component refined to 18.5?(5)%.

Two N and two O atoms of the tetra-dentate ligand and an O atom of an ethanol ligand form the equatorial plane. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the two benzene rings is 34.8?(3)°. In the crystal, relatively strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the complex and ethanol solvent mol-ecules into alternating centrosymmetric R(2) (2)(8) and R(4) (4)(16) ring motifs, forming chains along [100]. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The coordination geometry at the Mo(VI) atom in the title compound, [Mo(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(4))O(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)], is distorted octa-hedral. The phenolate O, imino N, oxide O from the enolized carbonyl group and one of the terminal O atoms form the equatorial plane; the axial positions are occupied by the other terminal O atom of the dioxidomolybdenum group and the donor O atom of DMSO. The O=Mo=O angle is 105.31?(6)°. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the structure.

Project description:In the title benzil-idene Schiff base molybdenum(VI) complex, [Mo(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(3))O(2)(CH(3)OH)], the Mo(VI) ion is coordinated by two oxide O atoms and by two O atoms and one N atom of the tridentate N'-(3-meth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)benzo-hydrazidate (L) Schiff base ligand. The methanol O atom completes the distorted octa-hedral configuration of the Mo(VI) atom. Strong O-H?N hydrogen bonds form a C(5) chain around a 2(1) screw axis. Weak C-H-O hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The V(V) atom in the title complex, [V(C(14)H(8)BrClN(2)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], is six-coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one enolic O atom of the hydrazone ligand, one oxide O atom, one methanol O atom and one methoxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the hydrazone ligand is 13.2?(3)°. The deviation of the V atom towards the oxide O atom from the plane defined by the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligand and the meth-oxy O atom is 0.318?(2)?Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar oxidovanadium(V) complexes with hydrazone ligands. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(5)H(6)N)(3)[MoCl(4)O(2)]Cl, the pyridinium cations are N-H?Cl hydrogen bonded to the anionic [MoCl(4)O(2)](2-) complexes and to the two crystallographically independent chloride anions (located on C2 axes). The Mo(6+) centre adopts a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry, being surrounded by four chloride and two terminal oxide groups. The oxide ligands are mutually cis.

Project description:The title compound, Rb(8)[W(2)O(4)(SO(4))(6)], was precipitated from a melt of tungsten(VI) oxide and rubidium sulfate in rubidium disulfate. The unit cell contains two discrete [{W(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)}(2)(?-SO(4))(2)](8-) units connected by Rb-O coord-ination. The W atom is octahedrally surrounded by two oxide ligands, two terminal sulfate ligands and two bridging sulfate groups. One Rb atom is coordinated by eight O atoms, whereas the three other Rb atoms are coordinated by nine O atoms from sulfate and oxide groups, leading to distorted [RbO(x)] polyhedra.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mo(C16H13N3O2)O2(CH3OH)], the deprotonated Schiff base (E)-N'-[(Z)-4-oxido-4-phenyl-but-3-en-2-yl-idene]isonicotinohydrazide coordinates in a meridional fashion through the enolate O-, imine N- and amidate O-atom donors to the Mo atom of a cis-[MoO2](2+) core. The sixth coordination site of molybdenum is occupied by the O atom of a methanol mol-ecule. In this complex, the NO5 coordination sphere adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The metal atom is shifted by 0.335?(1)?Å from the square plane defined by the three donor atoms of the Schiff base ligand and one oxide group towards the second oxide group in the cis position. In the crystal, the complex forms inversion dimers through a pair of O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the methanol -OH group and the pyridine N atom. Additional C-H?O contacts stack the mol-ecules along the b axis.
