[(4-Methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine-?(3)N,N',N'']bis-(thio-cyanato-?S)copper(II) dichloro-methane hemisolvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(20)H(21)N(3))]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), crystallized with two independent complex mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, accompanied by one dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule. Each Cu(II) atom has a square-pyramidal geometry, being coordinated by five N atoms, three from the (4-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine ligand and two from the thio-cyanate ligands. In the crystal, the B mol-ecules are linked via C-H?S inter-actions, forming chains propagating along [100].

Project description:In the binuclear title compound, [Ag(2)(C(11)H(11)N(3))(2)](CF(3)O(3)S)(2), the complex cation is centrosymmetric, with the unique Ag(+) cation coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N 161.02?(7)°]. This set-up leads to the formation of a 14-membered cyclic dimer. The two pyridine rings coordinated to the Ag(+) cation are tilted by 80.19?(7)° with respect to each other. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cyclic dimer and the anion exist. A two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane is constructed by three weak Ag?(O,N) inter-actions as well as an F?F contact of 2.890?(4)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(11)N(3), crystallizes with two mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. The geometries of both mol-ecules are very similar, with the exception of the torsion angles of the inter-ring chains; the values for C-N-C-C are 67.4?(5) and -69.3?(5)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl ring planes are 84.0?(2) and 83.2?(2)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [RhCl(3)(C(12)H(12)N(2)O)]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Rh(III) atom shows a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry being coordinated by two N atoms and one O atom from the 2,2'-(oxydimethanedi-yl)dipyridine ligand and three Cl atoms. Two Cl atoms adopt a trans arrangement to the two pyridyl N atoms, while the third Cl atom and the O atoms occupy the axial site. The Rh-Cl bonds that are trans to the pyridyl N atoms are slightly longer than the Rh-Cl bond distance trans to the O atom.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C20H21N3)2](ClO4)2, two tridentate (2-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine (L) ligands form the Mn(II) complex [MnL 2](ClO4)2. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis and the complex cation is significantly distorted from regular octa-hedral geometry. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between the cations and anions, which link them into a zigzag ribbon along [101]. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was constrained to be tetra-hedral with two orientations having occupancies of 0.768 (4) and 0.232 (4). The 2-methylbenzyl moiety is also disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.508 (15) and 0.492 (15).

Project description:In the title complex, [Fe(NCS)2(C18H18N4)], the Fe(II) cation is chelated by a tris-(2-pyridyl-meth-yl)amine ligand and coordin-ated by two thio-cyanate anions in a distorted N6 octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions between parallel pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.653 (3) Å] link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular architecture. The structure contains voids of 124 (9) Å(3), which are free of solvent molecules.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(18)H(18)N(4))]·0.5CH(3)OH, consists of two crystallographically distinct complexes and a methanol solvent mol-ecule. The Ni(II) complexes are pseudo-octa-hedral six-coordinate, with the tris-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine (TPA) ligand providing four N atoms and two N-bound thio-cyanates providing the final two N atoms. The distances and angles are typical for Ni(II)-TPA complexes. The compound has unit-cell parameters that are surprisingly similar to the previously reported hydrate.
