ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pd(C(37)H(55)P(2)Si)Cl], the Pd atom has a distorted square-planar geometry. The two five-membered rings adopt envelope conformations, while the four cyclo-hexane rings have chair conformations. The two planar aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 28.79?(3)°.

Project description:The title compound, [Ag(2)I(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(C(18)H(27)P)(2)], contains centrosymmetric dinuclear species in which each Ag atom is surrounded by a phosphine ligand, a weakly coordinating pyridine ligand and two iodide anions in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination. The two iodide anions bridge the Ag atoms, which are separated by a distance of 3.1008 (6) Å. The Ag-P distance is 2.4436 (8) Å, Ag-N is 2.386 (3)Å and the Ag-I distances are 2.8186 (4) and 2.9449 (5) Å.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(30)H(20)F(12)P(2) or R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2) (R = 4-C(6)H(4)CF(3)), were inadvertently prepared while attempting to recrystallize a crude sample of trans-Re(Cl)(N(2))(R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2))(2) from diethyl ether. The molecule lies on a center of inversion. One of the rings lies approximately in the P-C-C-P plane; the dihedral angle is 174.53°.The other ring is not quite perpendicular; the dihedral angle is 71.1°. The compound is isostructural with the R = Ph, 4-C(6)H(4)CH(3) and 4-C(6)H(4)CH(2)CH(3) analogues. It is well known that the basicity of phosphines and diphosphines can be altered by changing the electron-donating ability of R; however, the structural parameters for the title compound do not significantly differ from those of the aforementioned substituted-phenyl compounds.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(30)H(23)O(2)P(2))(C(3)H(9)P)(2)], was synthesized by the addition of a Co(PMe(3))(4) solution to (PPh(2)O)(2)C(6)H(4). The Co(I) atom displays a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry with the two P atoms of the 'PCP' pincer ligand and the P atom of one of the trimethyl phosphine ligands forming the basal plane, whereas the metalated C atom and the P atom of the second phospine ligand occupy the apical sites.
