ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(6)H(19)N(4) (+)·Cl(-)·CH(2)Cl(2), the non-H atoms of the ammonium ion show non-crystallographic C(3) symmetry. The chloride ion is embedded in a framework of seven crystallographically independent hydrogen bonds (five N-H?Cl and two C-H?Cl), which form layers parallel to the (100) plane. Two N---H...N bonds also occur.

Project description:The binuclear title compound, [Au(2)Fe(C(9)H(10)NOS)(2)(C(17)H(14)P)(2)]·CH(2)Cl(2), which has the Fe atom located on a crystallographic centre of inversion, crystallizes as a 1:1 dichloro-methane solvate, which is disordered about a centre of inversion. There is a small deviation from linearity defined by the SP donor set [S1-Au-P1 angle is 175.35?(5) °] which is due to an intra-molecular Au?O contact [3.080?(5)?Å]. The primary inter-molecular contacts between binuclear mol-ecules are of the type C-H??, and are arranged so as to form columns in the a-axis direction in which the disordered solvent mol-ecules reside.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Rh(C(6)H(19)N(4))Cl(3)]Cl·0.5H(2)O, is isotypic with the previously reported Ru analogue. The structure contains two crystallographically independent [Rh(Htren)Cl(3)](+) cations with a facial tridentate coordination of the monoprotonated tren ligand [tren = tris-(2-amino-eth-yl)amine], leading to an overall distorted octahedral coordination environment around the Rh(III) atom. In one of the two cations, the ethyl-ene groups of the two chelate rings as well as the non-coordinating ethyl-ammonium group are disordered over two sets of sites [0.579?(3):0.421?(3) occupancy ratio]. A series of N-H?Cl and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds stabilizes the structure.
