Trans-(4-Acetyl-naphth-yl)chlorido-bis(triphenyl-phosphine-?P)nickel(II) dichloro-methane solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(9)O)Cl(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]·CH(2)Cl(2), was synthesized from the reaction between 1-acetyl-4-chloro-naphthalene, NiCl(2)·6H(2)O and triphenyl-phosphine (PPh(3)) in ethanol. The compound contains one crystallographically unique nickel ion in a pseudo-square-planar geometry.

Project description:The dinuclear molecule of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(18)H(15)P)(4)]·2CH(2)Cl(2), lies across an inversion center with a strictly planar bridging oxalate ligand coordinating two Cu(I) ions via two pairs of O atoms. Two triphenyl-phosphine ligands also coordinate each symmetry-related Cu(I) ion, resulting in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry [O-Cu-O = 80.57?(5)° and P-Cu-P = 125.72?(2)°]. In the crystal, there are two dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecules for each dinuclear complex.

The environment about the Ru atom corresponds to a slightly distorted octa-hedron and the bite angle of the Tp ligand produces an average N-Ru-N angle of 86.3?(9)°. The three Ru-N(Tp) bond lengths [2.117?(2), 2.079?(2) and 2.084?(2)?Å] are slightly longer than the average distance (2.038?Å) in other ruthenium-Tp complexes.

Project description:The title compound, [CuI(C(18)H(15)P)(3)]·C(2)H(3)N, was obtained from the reaction of triphenyl-phosphine and copper(I) iodide in acetonitrile. The monomeric form of the complex has slightly distorted coordination of Cu by the I atom and three P atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions between phenyl H atoms and phenyl rings. In addition, the complex mol-ecules exhibit C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between phenyl H atoms and acetonitrile N atoms. The crystal used was an inversion twin, with nearly equal component populations of 0.522 (8) and 0.478 (8).
