Catena-Poly[cadmium(II)-(μ-3-ammonio-3-phenyl-propanoato-κO:O')-di-μ-chlorido].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [CdCl(2)(C(9)H(11)NO(2))](n), is a coordination polymer prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of cadmium(II) chloride and 3-amino-3-phenyl-propanoic acid. Geometric parameters are in the usual ranges. The cadmium cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms at equatorial sites and two O atoms from two ligands at the axial sites. The material is composed of one-dimensional extended polymeric chains in which two Cl atoms bridge Cd atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title complex, [CdCl(2)(C(4)H(8)O(2))](n), two different Cd(II) ions are present, one in a general position and one with site symmetry 2. The Cd(II) ions are coordinated by two O atoms from two 1,4-dioxane ligands and four chloride anions in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry and is connected to neighboring Cd(II) ions by two bridging chloride anions, generating infinite linear chains along the a axis. These chains are further inter-connected by bridging 1,4-dioxane ligands, affording a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(2)(NCS)(2)(C(15)H(15)NO(2))(2)](n), contains the Schiff base 2-[(4-methyl-phenyl-imino)meth-yl]-6-methoxy-phenol (HL) ligand, one thio-cyanate and one chloride ligand coordinated to a cadmium centre. The cadmium centers are linked to each other via two thio-cyanate and two chloride bridges alternately, resulting in centrosymmetric zigzag chains running parallel to the a axis. The Cd(II) coordination environment contains two Cl atoms, one thio-cyanate (SCN) S atom, one isothio-cyanate (NCS) N atom and two O atoms from the HL ligand. The Schiff base ligand is in the trans conformation.

The carboxyl-ate ligand is monodentate and the amide O atom bridges a symmetry-related Sn atom, generating a chain along [010] with a linear topology. An intra-molecular carboxyl-ate-carbonyl N-H⋯O hydrogen bond is responsible for the curved conformation within the carboxyl-ate ligand.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric complex, [Cd(C12H8O4)(H2O)2] n , the Cd(II) cation, located on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two water mol-ecules and chelated by two phenyl-enediacrylate anions (mpda) in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The mpda anions bridge the Cd(II) cations, forming helical chains propagating along the c-axis direction. The mpba anion has twofold symmetry with two benzene C atoms located on the twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric helical chains into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.
