Poly[1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium [tri-?-chlorido-chromate(II)]].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {(C(6)H(11)N(2))[CrCl(3)]}(n), was generated via mixing of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium chloride with CrCl(2) in ethanol. Crystals were obtained by a diffusion method. In the crystal structure, the anion forms one-dimensional chains of chloride-bridged Jahn-Teller distorted chromium(II) centers extending along the [100] direction. The imidazolium cations are positioned between these chains.

Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(?-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(?(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ?). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891?(7)-2.2018?(8)?Å and 107.10?(3)-110.56?(3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H?Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Project description:The title compound, [Pb(4)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)Cl(2)](n), consists of a three-dimensional inorganic-organic hybrid framework. The asymmetric unit contains two Pb(2+) cations, one Cl(-) anion and one and a half terephthalate anions, the latter being completed by inversion symmetry. The two Pb(2+) cations are each surrounded by five O atoms and one Cl atom in the form of irregular polyhedra. The cations are linked by ?(2)-O and ?(2)-Cl atoms into binuclear units, which are further extended through Pb-O inter-actions into an undulated inorganic layer parallel to (001). These layers are connected along [001] by the terephthalate groups into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The title compound, (C10H21N3)[CuCl4], is composed of one 1-[2-(di-ethyl-aza-nium-yl)eth-yl]-3-methyl-imidazolium dication and a tetra-chlorido-cuprate(II) dianion. The anion adopts a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Bifurcated interionic N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and several C-H⋯Cl contacts are observed, leading to a layer-like arrangement of the components parallel to (100).

Project description:In the title compound, {(C(5)H(14)N(2))[Cd(2)Cl(6)]·H(2)O}(n), the asymmetric unit contains one piperazinediium cation, one [Cd(2)Cl(6)](2-) anion and a water mol-ecule. The coordination geometries of the two Cd(2+) cations are distorted octa-hedral. Adjacent Cd(II) atoms are inter-connected alternately by paired chloride bridges, generating polymeric chains parallel to [010]. Neighbouring chains are connected by O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules, forming layers at z = n/2. The crystal packing is further stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, one of which is bifurcated.

Project description:The title compound, [HP(CH3)3][IrCl4{(H3C)3P}2], consists of a tri-methyl-phospho-nium cation and a tetra-chlorido-bis-(tri-methyl-phosphane)iridate(III) anion. Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(15)N(2))[LaCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(C(3)H(7)OH)], consists of one 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium (BMI(+)) cation and one hexa-hedral tetra-chlorido(methanol)(propan-2-ol)lanthanate anion. The La(III) ion is eight-coordinate, with the La(III) ion bridged by a pair of Cl atoms, so forming chains propagating along the a-axis direction. Each La(III) ion is further coordinated by two isolated Cl atoms, one methanol and one propan-2-ol mol-ecule. The coordinated methanol and propan-2-ol mol-ecules of the anion form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of inversion-related anions. The BMI(+) cation froms C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of the anion. The anions are located in the C faces of the triclinic unit cell, with an inversion center in the middle of the La(2)Cl(2) ring of the polymeric chain.

Project description:The solvated title salt, (C8H15N2)[NiBr3(P(C6H5)3)]·0.5C4H10O, was obtained in the form of single crystals directly from the reaction mixture. The mol-ecular structure consists of separated 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium cations, tri-bromido-(tri-phenyl-phosphane)nickelate(II) anions and half a solvent mol-ecule of 1-butanol, all connected via multiple hydrogen contacts to form a three-dimensional network. The co-crystallized 1-butanol mol-ecule is disordered and adopts two orientations. The central C-C bonds of both orientations are located on an inversion centre (Wyckoff site 2b of space group P21/n). Thereby, each orientation has again two orientations with the OH group being located either on one or the other side of the C4 alkyl chain. The dried solvent-free compound exhibits a relatively low melting point (m.p. = 412 K).

The Sb and N atoms are trans to each other.
