ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(8)H(9)N(2))(4)[Mo(8)O(26)], consists of two 2-methyl-benzimidazolium cations and one-half of a ?-Mo(8)O(26) (4-) anion, which is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry. An extensive net of N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions contribute to the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title salt, [Eu(C3H7NO)8][PMo12O40], the asymmetric unit comprises one α-Keggin-type [PMo12O40](3-) polyoxidometalate anion and one distorted dodeca-hedral [Eu(C3H7NO)8](3+) complex cation. In the crystal, the isolated polyoxidometalate anions are packed into hexa-gonally arranged rows extending parallel to [001]. The complex cations are situated between the rows and are linked to the neighbouring anions through weak C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(4)S(4))(8)[Mo(6)O(19)](2)·CH(3)CN, contains two halves of two centrosymmetric [Mo(6)O(19)](2-) hexa-molybdate anions, which are each built up from six distorted MoO(6) octa-hedra sharing common edges and one common vertex at the central O atom, six tetra-thia-fulvalene cations (three of which are located on mirror planes) to balance the charge and a half of an acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule, likewise located on a mirror plane. The two central hexa-molybdate O atoms occupy special positions 2a and 2d, respectively. The cations and anions are inter-linked through C-H?O contacts.

As a result, there is just one quarter-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The title compound features a Zn(4)O(4) cube. Each Zn atom in the cube carries a pentafluorophenyl substituent. Each O atom is bonded to a further Zn atom, which is connected to a pentafluorophenyl substituent and the O atom of a diethyl ether mol-ecule. All ether C atoms are disordered over two sets of sites with a site occupation factor of 0.51?(2) for the major occupied site.

Project description:The title compound (NH(4))(4)[Mo(8)O(24)(O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, consists of an octa-molybdate cluster with a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The clusters pack in a cubic close packing arrangement defining channels containing water mol-ecules and ammonium cations, which exhibit hydrogen bonding with neighbouring clusters. Hydrogen bonding also exists between the coordinated water mol-ecules of one cluster with one of the O atoms of the peroxido fragment in a neighbouring cluster.

Project description:The title compound, (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[MoS(4)], was synthesized by passing a rapid stream of H(2)S into an aqueous isopropyl-amine solution of molybdic acid. The title compound is isotypic with the corresponding W analogue (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[WS(4)]; its structure consists of a slightly distorted tetra-hedral [MoS(4)](2-) dianion and two crystallographically independent isopropyl-ammonium cations, with all atoms located in general positions. The cations and anion are linked by weak N-H⋯S and C-H⋯S inter-actions, the strength and number of which can explain the observed Mo-S bond distances.

The two independent Yb(III) ions, each coordinated by eight O atoms in an irregular geometry, exhibit different coordination environments, viz. one water mol-ecule, five bridging bidentate and one chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for one Yb(III) ion, and one water mol-ecule, three bridging bidentate and two chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for the other Yb(III) ion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.

One of the two quniolinium ions forms an N-H?Op (p = polyoxidometallate) hydrogen bond and the other an N-H?Ow (w = water) hydrogen bond. The water mol-ecules further link the components by O-H?Op and O-H?Ow hydrogen bonds. A number of C-H?O inter-actions and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid separation = 3.541?(7)?Å] are also observed. Together, these generate a three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit contains two [emim](+) cations and one-half of the [?-Mo(8)O(26)](4-) tetra-anion, which occupies a special position on an inversion centre. The ?-[Mo(8)O(26)](4-) tetra-anion features eight distorted MoO(6) coordination octa-hedra linked together through bridging O atoms.
