ABSTRACT: Cocrystallization of 4-carboxypiperdine with 5-nitro-isophthalic acid afforded the title salt, 2C(6)H(12N)O(2) (+)·C(8)H(3)NO(6) (2-), in which the heterocyclic N atoms are protonated and the carboxylic acid groups are deprotonated. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions assemble the ions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The whole mol-ecule of the title compound, C14H9NO6, is generated by twofold rotation symmetry; the twofold axis bis-ects the nitro group and the benzene ring. The nitro group is inclined to the benzene ring by 14.42 (9)°. The prop-2-yn-1-yl groups are inclined to the benzene ring by 13 (2)° and to each other by 24 (3)°; one directed above the plane of the benzene ring and the other below. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with an R 2 (2)(18) ring motif. The dimers are linked by further C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to (100).

Project description:In the mixed ligand title compound, [Cd(C(6)H(11)NO(2))(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)], which exhibits a discrete mononuclear structure, the Cd(II )atom is in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, surrounded by five carboxyl-ate O atoms and one coordinated water mol-ecule. The piperdinium ring adopts a chair conformation and the two 4-nitro-benzoate rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 75.8?(1)°. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear entities into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[CuCl(4)], consists of two inequivalent 1-methyl-piperidinium cations and a flattened tetra-hedral [CuCl(4)](2-) anion. Each organic cation exhibits a chair conformation with the methyl group in the equatorial position. They are segregated into alternating layers parallel to (100) and stacked along [100]. The first cation is arranged in parallel stacks in a herringbone pattern with rows of [CuCl(4)](2-) anions fitting between the stacks and with a Cl(-) ion directed into the inter-ior of the layer. The second organic cation forms distorted hcp layers that separate the other organic cation/[CuCl(4)](2-) slabs. N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the cations and the anions consolidates the crystal packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[SbCl(5)], contains one cation and half of the anion on a special position (specifically, the Sb(III) ion and three chloride anions are situated on a mirror plane). In the [SbCl(5)](2-) unit, the Sb(III) ion is coordinated by five chloride anions [Sb-Cl = 2.3721?(11)-2.6656?(12)?Å] in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. However, one chloride anion from a neighbouring [SbCl(5)](2-) unit provides a short Sb?Cl contact of 3.3600?(12)?Å and completes the Sb coordination environment up to an elongated octa-hedron. Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, 2C(7)H(8)NO(2) (+)·SO(4) (2-)·H(2)O, each cation in the asymmetric unit is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The O atoms of the sulfate ion are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.541 (13):0.459 (13), which possibly optimizes the acceptance of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds from the cations. The crystal structure also features aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-centroid separation = 3.842 (2) Å] and a C-H⋯π inter-action.
