ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(9)H(6)N(2)O(5))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom has a square-pyramidal coordination environment with a tridentate N-(5-nitro-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)glycinate Schiff base ligand and a water mol-ecule in the basal plane. The apical site is occupied by an O atom from another coordinated water mol-ecule. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, building a two-dimensional network parallel to (100).

Project description:In the title compound, [CdCu(2)(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atoms are in a square plane of N(2)O(2) atoms contributed by the tetra-dentate Schiff base trianion. The Cu(II) atoms are coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one imine N atom, one amido N atom and one carboxyl-ate O atom. The Cd(II) atom is connected via the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a heterotrinuclear Cu(II)-Cd(II)-Cu(II) system. The Cd(II) atom is seven-coordinate in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry with four O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups and three aqua ligands. The heterotrinuclear mol-ecules are linked to the uncoordinated water mol-ecules by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

The Cu(II) atom is chelated by the Schiff base ligand in a distorted CuN(2)O(2) square-planar geometry. An extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding network is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(9)H(7)NO(3))(C(10)H(9)N)(H(2)O)]·0.5H(2)O, crystallizes with two independent formula units in the asymmetric unit; the solvent mol-ecule is located on a twofold axis of symmetry. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated by one tridentate N-salicylideneglycinate Schiff base ligand, one 4-methyl-quinoline ligand and one water mol-ecule, leading to a slightly distorted square-pyramidal N(2)O(3) geometry. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into linear chains in the [100] direction. The structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions and C?C contacts with C?C = 3.3058?(2), 3.3636?(2) and 3.3946?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the two carboxyl-ate groups of the 4-nitro-phthalate dianion ligands have monodentate and 1,3-bridging bonding modes, respectively. The Cu atom shows an approximate square-pyramidal coordination as it is bonded to O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of three 4-nitro-phthalate ligands and two O atoms of the non-equivalent coordinated water mol-ecules. Other Cu atoms in the coordination polymer are connected into a two-dimensional layer in the ab plane. The layers are aggregated to a three-dimensional structure through inter-layer hydrogen bonding involving an O atom of a nitro group. The whole three-dimensional structure is further maintained and stabilized by intra-layer hydrogen bonds between the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups and the coordinated water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cu2(C7H4O3)2(H2O)2]·2H2O} n , contains two copper(II) cations in special positions (one on a twofold rotation axis and one on an inversion centre) and the the salicylate ligand in its dianionic form. By four- and six-coordinate metal coordination, chains are formed parallel to [001], which are extended by O-H?O hydrogen bonding into sheets extending parallel to (100). These sheets are weakly connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonding via the non-coordinating lattice water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.
