Poly[[diaqua-(μ(4)-l-tartrato)(μ(2)-l-tartrato)dizinc(II)] tetra-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Zn(C(4)H(4)O(6))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the l-tartrate ligands adopt μ(4)- and μ(2)-coordination modes. The Zn(II) atom adopts an octa-hedral geometry and is chelated by two kinds of l-tartrate ligands through the hydr-oxy and carboxyl-ate groups and coordinated by one unchelating carboxyl-ate O atom and one water mol-ecule. In the crystal, the l-tartrate ligands link the Zn(II) atoms, forming a two-dimensional coordination layer; these layers are futher linked into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the two-dimensional coordin-ation layers and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The latter are equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Mn(C(4)H(4)O(6))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Mn(2+) ion is connected to three different tartrate anions and a water mol-ecule, resulting in a distorted MnO(6) octa-hedral geometry. There are two tartrate half-anions in the asymmetric unit, both of which are completed by crystallographic twofold rotation symmetry. The tartrate dianions bridge the Mn(2+) ions to form a wave-like infinite layer. A series of O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the layers into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cd(C(4)H(4)O(6))]·0.167H(2)O}(n), adopts a three-dimensional network structure in which each Cd(II) ion is chelated by two pairs of carboxyl-ate and hydroxyl O atoms from two tartrate anions, and is additionally linked to two O atoms of two carboxyl-ate groups that are not involved in chelation. The asymmetric unit has four independent cadmium atoms, two of which lie on special positions of 2 site symmetry. The tartrate anions all lie on general positions. All hydroxyl groups are engaged in O-H?O hydrogen-bonds, one of which is also bifurcated. The non-coordinating water molecule is situated on a site with half-occupation.

Project description:The cyclo-tetra-phosphate anion, [P(4)O(12)](4-), forms the title complex with cobalt(II) and quinolinium, {(C(9)H(8)N)(2)[Co(P(4)O(12))(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O}(n). In the complex anion, the Co(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is surrounded by four phosphate O atoms and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure consists of anionic ribbons of formula {[Co(P(4)O(12))(H(2)O)(2)](2-)}(n) extending along [100]. A network of O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds consolidates the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(20)H(11)N(4)O(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is six-coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from one bidentate benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (1,4-BDC) ligand, two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two different monodentate 4-(1H-1,3,7,8-tetra-aza-cyclo-penta-[l]phenanthren-2-yl)benzoate (HNCP) ligands and two HNCP N atoms. The Zn(II) atoms are bridged by the centrosymmetric 1,4-BDC ligands, forming an extended single-chain structure. Neighbouring single chains are connected by the HNCP ligands from two opposite directions, resulting in a sheet. In addition, there are N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between adjacent layers. As a result, the polymeric sheets are further extended into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The cation sits on a twofold axis and is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry; the polyhedra are linked into zigzag chains, which are further connected by N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds as well as ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance of 3.639?(2)?Å], giving a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2](NO3)2·4H2O} n , (C10H8N2 = 4,4'-bipyridine = 4,4'-bpy) is a layered coordination polymer built up from a cationic square grid extending in (101) enclosing uncoordinating nitrate ions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) ion has site symmetry 2 and one of the 4,4'-bpy ligands is generated by twofold symmetry [two N atoms and two C atoms lie on the rotation axis and the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 45.66?(5)°]. The other 4,4'-bpy ligand is generated by a crystallographic inversion center. The Co(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two O atoms of two coordinating water mol-ecules and four N atoms from four bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands. The structure is consolidated by O-H?O, C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Fe(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(6)]·4H(2)O}(n), there are two types of coordination for the Fe(II) atoms. One Fe(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two O atoms from the water mol-ecules, while the other is in a distorted octa-hedral O(6) environment with two O atoms from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and four O atoms from the water mol-ecules. Both Fe(II) atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are inter-connected by the uncoordinated water mol-ecules through O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The Co(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms, two carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The asymmetric unit contains two anionic L ligands. One bridges two Er(III) cations and one Co(II) cation through two carboxyl-ate groups and one pyridine N atom, while the other bridges two Er(III) cations and one Co(II) cation through two carboxyl-ate groups. Extensive O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are present in the crystal, involving all uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the uncoordinated pyridine N atom of one of the ligands bonded to an adjacent coordinated water mol-ecule. The title compound is isotypic with the gadolinium analogue.

One L ligand bridges two Ho ions and one Co ion through two carboxyl-ate groups and one pyridine N atom. Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(10)H(2)O(8))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Zn(II) atom is in a distorted tetra-hedral environment, being coordinated by one N atom from a 1,4-bis-(3-pyridyl-meth-yl)piperazine (3-bpmp) ligand, two O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups of the pyromellitate anion and one water mol-ecule. The distortion of the tetrahedral coordination may be ascribed to the hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent water mol-ecules. Each Zn(II) atom links to three organic ligands and each pyromellitate ligand coordinates to four Zn(II) atoms, forming a (3,4)-connected infinite three-dimensional framework. O-H?N inter-actions also occur.
