ABSTRACT: The Sn atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(3)H(6)NO)Cl(3)(CH(4)N(2)O)], is octa-hedrally coordinated within a CCl(3)NO donor set provided by a chelating amido-ethyl ligand (C and O), a urea-O atom and three facially arranged Cl atoms. Systematic variations in the Sn-Cl bond distances are correlated with the relative trans influence exerted by the C and carbonyl-O atoms. The three-dimensional crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?O and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(C(3)H(6)NO)Cl(3)(H(2)O)](2)·C(12)H(24)O(6), comprises a six-coordinate tin complex and a 18-crown-6 mol-ecule, the latter disposed about a centre of inversion. The tin atom is coordinated by three Cl atoms, that define a facial arrangement, a chelating C-,O- ligand, and a water mol-ecule. The resulting CCl(3)O(2) donor set defines a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The tin-bound aqua ligand forms O-H?O hydrogen bonds to the centrosymmetric 18-crown-6 mol-ecule, resulting in a tri-mol-ecular aggregate. These assemble into a supra-molecular chain along the a axis being connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The N atoms of the N-heterocycle are cis to each other. The Sn-N bond that is trans to the Sn-C bond is shorter than the Sn-N bond trans to the Sn-Cl bond. Weak N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link adjacent mol-ecules, generating a double chain running along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)2Cl2(CH4N2S)2], has been obtained from the reaction between Sn(C6H5)2Cl2 and SC(NH2)2. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the mol-ecular unit, the remainder generated by a twofold rotation axis located along the Cl-Sn-Cl bonds. The Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by two phenyl groups, two Cl atoms and two thio-urea ligands in an all trans octa-hedral C2Cl2S2 environment. Individual mol-ecules are connected through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. Intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrate, 2[Sn(H(2)O)(2)(OH)(2)Br(6)]·7H(2)O, comprises two [Br(3)(H(2)O)Sn(?-OH)(2)SnBr(3)(OH(2))] units, but three independent mol-ecules as two of these are disposed about inversion centres, and seven water mol-ecules. In common with the monoclinic polymorph [Howie et al. (2005 ?). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 358, 3283-3286], each of the dinuclear species features a central Sn(2)O(2) core, distorted octa-hedral Sn atom geometries defined by a Br(3)O(3) donor set, and an anti-disposition of the coordinated water mol-ecules. In the crystal, O(h)-H?O(w), O(a)-H?O(w), O(w)-H?O(w), and O(w)-H?Br (h = hydroxyl, a = aqua, w = water) hydrogen-bonding inter-actions generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C(4)H(9))(C(13)H(21)N)Cl(3)]·CH(2)Cl(2), was obtained by recrystallization of [2-(diisopropyl-amino-meth-yl)phen-yl]tin(IV) butyl dichloride from a CH(2)Cl(2)/n-hexane mixture (1:4 v/v) in the presence of ambient moisture. Partial hydrolysis led to the title compound, the hydro-chloric acid adduct of the dichloride, having a penta-coordinated Sn atom with a trigonal-bipyramidal C(2)SnCl(3) core. The N atom of the 2-[(diisopropyl-ammonio)-meth-yl]phenyl ligand forms a strong intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bond, resulting in a zwitterionic species, [2-((i)Pr(2)HN(+)CH(2))C(6)H(4)]SnBuCl(3) (-)·CH(2)Cl(2). Disorder was found in the n-butyl group, which was refined as disordered over three positions, with site occupancies of 0.22?(1), 0.51?(1) and 0.27?(2).

The remainder is generated by a twofold rotation axis passing through the mid-point of the oxalate C-C bond. The Sn(IV) atom exhibits a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment with the phenyl groups in equatorial positions and the thio-urea and the monodentately bridging oxalate anion in axial positions. The mol-ecules are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the amino group of the thio-urea ligand and the uncoordinating oxalate O atoms, forming layers parallel to (001). Weak C-H?O inter-actions are also present.

As the non-coordinating thione S atom is proximate to the Sn atom [Sn?S(thione) = 3.1477?(6) and 2.9970?(5)?Å for the independent mol-ecules], distortions from the ideal geometry are evident [the widest angle being 120.48?(5)°]. The most notable feature of the crystal packing is the formation of C-H?? inter-actions that lead to the formation of supra-molecular layers parallel to ([Formula: see text]2[Formula: see text]).
