ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [HgBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4)S(2))](n), the Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by the two N atoms of the pyridyl groups of different 3,6-bis-(2-pyridyl-sulfan-yl)pyridazine ligands and two Br atoms. The bridging function of the cis ligands leads to a helical chain structure along [100].

Project description:In the polymeric structure of the title compound {[Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)Li(H(2)O)(2)Li(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the coordination of two independent Li(I) ions is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and that of the other two independent Li(I) ions is distorted tetra-hedral. The former two Li(I) ions are bridged by hetero-ring N atoms of two independent pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, making a dimeric moiety. The carboxyl-ato-O atoms of both bidentate ligands bridge the dimers to adjacent independent aqua-coordinated Li(I) ions, forming mol-ecular ribbons. The latter are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ato and aqua O atoms, forming mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) which are held together by an extended system of O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Ni(II) atom, located on an inversion center, is ligated in an octa-hedral geometry by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 2-{[5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]sulfan-yl}acetate (L) ligands and two O atoms from water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane, and two pyridine N atoms from other two L ligands at the apical sites. Two L ligands bridge pairs of metal atoms in an anti-parallel manner, forming centrosymmetric dinuclear quasi-recta-ngular units which are linked into infinite double-stranded chains parallel to [100]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating water mol-ecules and the carboxyl-ate groups of the L ligand as well as interchain S⋯N inter-actions [2.726 (2)-3.363 (2) Å] lead to the formation of a layer structure parallel to (001).

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title complex, [Ni(C(7)H(6)NO(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)], the Ni(II) atom, located on a centre of inversion, is coordinated by two N atoms from two 2-(4-pyridyl-sulfan-yl)acetate ligands and four water O atoms in an octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the carboxyl-ate group of the anionic 2-(4-pyridyl-sulfan-yl)acetate ligands link these discrete mononuclear units into a three-dimensional network.

The two C atoms of the -CH(2)-CH(2)- group in one of the cations are disordered over two sites with relative occupancies of 0.83 (2) and 0.17 (2).

The Cu(II) ions adopt a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and are coordinated by four pyridine N atoms and two water O atoms. The coordinated water mol-ecules and hydrogen phthalate anions are located between the repeated rhomboidal chains, and form hydrogen bonds with the coordinated water mol-ecules.
