ABSTRACT: The Zn(II) atom in the title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(8)H(12)N(4))], is coordinated by two Cl atoms and three N atoms of the N-[1-(pyrazin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]ethane-1,2-diamine ligand, and displays a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with the apical position occupied by a Cl atom. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(11)H(17)N(3))], contains two independent penta-coordinate Zn(II) complex mol-ecules. In each mol-ecule, the metal atom is coordinated by an N,N',N''-tridenate Schiff base and two Cl atoms in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The two mol-ecules differ little in their geometry, but more in their inter-molecular inter-actions. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯Cl inter-actions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. The network is supplemented by π-π inter-actions formed between the aromatic rings of pairs of the symmetry-related mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distances = 3.6255 (10) and 3.7073 (10) Å]. The crystal lattice contains void spaces with a size of 52 Å(3).

Project description:The title complex, [CuCl(2)(C(9)H(13)N(3))], is mononuclear and contains a five-coordinate Cu(II) atom. The geometry of the Cu(II) atom can be described as tetra-gonal-pyramidal derived from the calculation of the value τ = 0.102. The three N atoms of the pyridine and ethane-1,2-diamine ligands and one Cl atom belong to the basal plane and the other Cl atom represents the axial position of the pyramid. The Cu atom is displaced by 0.2599 (2) Å from the basal plane towards the axial Cl atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains by inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(NCS)(C(16)H(18)N(4))]ClO(4), the Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by four N atoms of the Schiff base ligand N,N'-bis-[1-(2-pyrid-yl)ethyl-idene]ethane-1,2-diamine in the basal plane, and by the N atom of a thio-cyanate ligand at the apical position, forming a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The r.m.s. deviation from a plane through the four N atoms of the Schiff base is 0.015 (3) Å, and the deviation of the Ni atom from that plane is 0.591 (2) Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar zinc(II) complexes with Schiff bases. The two methyl-ene C atoms of the ethane-1,2-diamine bridge of the Schiff base ligand are disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.587 (3) and 0.413 (3).

Project description:The title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(10)H(15)N(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2), was obtained by the reaction of 2-acetyl-pyridine, N-methyl-ethane-1,2-diamine and zinc perchlorate in methanol. The asymmetric unit of the complex contains two independent [Zn(C(10)H(15)N(3))(2)](2+) cations and four perchlorate anions. The Zn(II) atom in each complex cation is six-coordinated by two pyridine N, two imine N and two amine N atoms from two N-methyl-N'-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]ethane-1,2-diamine Schiff base ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The pyridine rings in each of the complex cations are approximately perpendicular to each other, making dihedral angles of 88.4 (3) and 87.9 (3)°. The perchlorate anions are linked to the complex cations through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.
