ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, [Cd(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], the Cd(II) cation is N,N'-chelated by two 2-pyridine-aldoxime ligands and coordinated by two acetate anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The hy-droxy groups of the 2-pyridine-aldoxime ligands link to the acetate anions via intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur in the crystal.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two pyridine-2-aldoxime (PaoH) ligands and two acetate groups, with cis coordination for the pairs of identical ligands. While each acetate group binds to the Ni(II) atom by one O atom, each PaoH chelates the Ni(II) atom through two N atoms. The O atom on PaoH is not deprotonated and does not participate in bonding to the Ni(II) atom. Thus, the Ni(II) atom exhibits an octa-hedral environment. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are present in the structure. Adjacent mol-ecules pack along [100] through van der Waals forces.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(CH3COO)2(C6H7N3O)2]·2C2H5OH, the Cd(II) atom, which lies on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two monodentate acetate groups and two N,N'-chelating pyridine-2-carboxamide oxime ligands, leading to a distorted octahedral coordination sphere. The mononuclear complex mol-ecules are assembled into chains along the c-axis direction via N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. These chains are further assembled by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the ethanol solvent mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], was prepared by the reaction of pyridine and trichloro-acetatonickel(II) in ethanol solution at room temperature. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination made up of four N atoms of the pyridine ligands and two O atoms of trichloro-acetate anions. Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

The two carboxyl-ate ligands adopt a cis configuration with respect to each other. Within each of these ligands, the imidazole fragments are bent back in a loop towards the acetyl groups, forming intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which help to stablilize the mononuclear complex. Adjacent mol-ecules are further linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a chain along the c axis.

Two trichloro-acetate ligands complete the coordination around the Cd(II )ion, forming a distorted octa-hedral environment. In the crystal, solvent water mol-ecules, which also lie on twofold rotation axes, form inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which connect the two-dimensional structure into a three-dimensional network. The crystal studied was an inversion twin, the refined ratio of twin components being 0.75?(4):0.25?(4).
