ABSTRACT: The title complex, [RuBr(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], contains two independent complex mol-ecules in each of which the Ru(II) atom is located on a site of 222 symmetry and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry with four pyridine N atoms and two Br atoms. The Br aroms are trans-disposed as a result of symmetry.

Project description:The title compound, cis-[RuCl(2)(C(3)H(9)P)(4)]·2C(6)H(6), contains a complex mol-ecule with a crystallographic mirror plane passing through the Ru(II) atom, the two cis-disposed Cl ligands and two P atoms of the two cis-disposed P(CH(3))(3) ligands. The Ru(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral RuCl(2)P(4) coordination geometry with the two trans-disposed P atoms occupying the axial positions. The packing of the structure is accomplished through non-classical C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between the benzene solvent mol-ecule and one of the Cl ligands.

Project description:The title compound, [ReO(2)(C(6)H(7)N)(4)]PF(6), contains octa-hedral [ReO(2)(4-Mepy)(4)](+) cations (4-Mepy is 4-methyl-pyridine) and PF(6) (-) anions. Both the cation and the anion reside on special positions, the Re atom on a crystallographic center of inversion and the P atom on a C(2) axis parallel to the b axis. The Re(V) atom in the cation exhibits an octa-hedral coordination geometry with two O atoms in the apical positions and four N atoms of the 4-Mepy ligands in the equatorial plane. The Re=O and Re-N bond lengths fall in the typical ranges of trans-dioxidorhenium(V) complexes.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(BF4)2(C5H5N)2], the Cu(II) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment and is surrounded by four pyridine and two tetra-fluoridoborate mol-ecules. The four pyridine mol-ecules are coordinated to the copper ion through their N atoms in the equatorial plane and display a right-handed screw arrangement around the Cu(II) ion. The remaining two trans positions in the octa-hedron are occupied by the BF4 (-) anions, each coordinating weakly through an F atom. The crystal packing shows a two-dimensional sheet structure parallel to the ab plane that is formed by C-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(4)]·H(2)O, contains two crystallographically independent complex mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules. The Cu(II) ion in each mol-ecule is six-coordinated in an elongated octa-hedral geometry, with the equatorial plane defined by four pyridine N atoms of four amino-pyridine ligands and the axial positions occupied by two Cl atoms. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by C-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and C/N-H⋯π inter-actions involving the pyridine rings.

Project description:The are two independent complex cations in the title salt, [CrF2(C5H5N)4]ClO4, each located on a centre of inversion, as well as an independent perchlorate counter-ion. The complex cations adopt slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environments around the Cr(III) ion, defined by four pyridine (py) N atoms in the equatorial plane and two F(-) ligands in the axial positions; intra-molecular C-H?F contacts are noted. The mean Cr-N(py) and Cr-F bond lengths are 2.088?(6) and 1.8559?(10)?Å, respectively. The three-dimensional architecture is sustained by hydrogen bonds involving the pyridine C-H groups as donors, and F and O atoms as acceptors.

The Ru(II) atom has a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The pyrazine rings are propeller-like and rotated 45.1 (1)° from the RuN(4) plane. In the crystal, the complex and solvent mol-ecules are bridged by weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds along the c axis. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl contacts link the complexes in the ab plane, forming a network.

Project description:The title salt, [Pd(C(6)H(4)N(2))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), comprises Pd(4-cyano-pyridine)(4) dications balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pd(II) atom lies in a square-planar geometry defined by four N atoms which form equivalent Pd-N inter-actions. The 4-cyano-pyridine ligands are twisted out of the N(4) plane, forming dihedral angles ranging from 66.5?(2) to 89.9?(2)°. In the crystal packing, columns of edge-to-edge dications define channels in which reside the anions. A range of C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilizes the crystal packing.

Project description:In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [CuCl(C(6)H(5)NO)(4)]Cl, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms of four pyridine-4-carboxaldehyde ligands and one chloride anion in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. There is also a non-coordinating Cl(-) anion in the crystal structure. The Cu(II) atom and both Cl atoms are situated on fourfold rotation axes. A weak C-H⋯Cl inter-action is also present.

Project description:The title compound, cis,fac-dichloridotetra-kis(dimethyl sulfoxide)-κ(3)S,κO-ruthenium(II), [RuCl(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], was obtained from newly synthesized ruthenium complexes of 3-amino-2-chloro-pyridine. The Ru atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two cis-oriented chloride ligands and four dimethyl sulfoxide ligands. Three of the sulfoxide ligands are S-bonded in a fac configuration, while the fourth is O-bonded. The title compound represents a new, and fourth, polymorph of the complex. Two other monoclinic forms and an ortho-rhom-bic modification have been reported previously.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], contains one half of a neutral Pd(II) complex, with the complete mol-ecule generated by the application of a twofold rotation axis; the N-Pd-N atoms lie on the axis. The Pd(II) ion has a trans-Cl(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 4-phenyl-pyridine ligands and two Cl(-) anions. In the refinement, the pyridine ring and the phenyl ring were found to be disordered over two sites with the site-occupancy factors being 0.53 (2) and 0.51 (1), respectively, for the major components.
