ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ru2(C10H14)2Cl2(C16H8N4)](PF6)2·2C3H6O, the binuclear Ru(II) complex dication, [{RuCl(?(6)-cym)}2(?-tape)](2+), built up by a planar 1,6,7,12-tetra-aza-perylene (tape) bridge, two ?(6)-bound cymene (cym) ligands and two chloride ligands, includes an inversion center. The Ru(II) atom shows the typical piano-stool motif for arene coordination. The counter-charge is provided by a hexa-fluorido-phosphate anion and the asymmetric unit is completed by an acetone mol-ecule of crystallization. The components of the structure are connected into a three-dimensional architecture by C-H?O/F/Cl inter-actions.

Project description:A new tert-butanol solvate of [{((i)PrC(6)H(4)Me)RuCl}(2){μ-2,5-pyz(COO)(2)}] (pyz = pyrazine) has been crystallized and structurally characterized. The solvate, [Ru(2)(C(10)H(14))(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))Cl(2)]·2C(4)H(10)O, contains one half-mol-ecule of the ruthenium(II) complex and one mol-ecule of tert-butanol in the asymmetric unit. The complex mol-ecule lies on an inversion centre with the two chlorides trans. In contrast, the previously reported structure was solvent-free. Similar metric parameters are found between the butanol solvate and the solvent-free form and an inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond exists between μ-pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ato-bis-[chlorido(η(6)-p-cymene)-ruthenium(II)] and the tert-butanol mol-ecule.

Project description:Dimeric mol-ecules of the title compound, [Ru(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(18))(2)], are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The hexa-methyl-benzene rings are in an η(6)-coordination to the ruthenium centres, which are bridged by two chloride ligands. In addition, the ruthenium centres are bonded to another chloride ligand. The aromatic rings and the Ru(2)Cl(2) four-membered ring enclose a dihedral angle of 55.85 (6)°.

The η(6)-coordination mode of the arene incorporated into the structure was generated in situ after addition of methyl tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate to the neutral η(5)-arene tethered precursor complex [RuCl(PPh3)(η(5):κ(1)-OC6H4C(NiPr2)=N-PPh2)] in di-chloro-methane solution.

Project description:The title compound, [RuCl(C10H14)(C11H10N4)]Cl is an Ru(II) complex in which an η (6) -p-cymene ligand, two N atoms of 3-amino-2-(phenyl-azo)pyridine and one Cl ion form a piano-stool coordination environment around the metal ion. In the crystal structure, N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds play an important role in the formation of the supramolecular zigzag chain along the a-axis direction. Disorder is observed for the isopropyl group with site-occupancy factors refined to 0.78 (5) and 0.22 (5).

Project description:In the title compound, rac-[Ru(C14H16N2)2(C16H8N4)](PF6)2·3C2H3N, discrete dimers of complex cations, [Ru(tmbpy)2-tape](2+), of opposite chirality are formed (tmbpy = tetra-methyl-bipyridine; tape = tetraazaperylene), held together by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the tetra-aza-perylene moieties with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.563?(3)-3.837?(3)?Å. These inter-actions exhibit a parallel displaced ?-? stacking mode. Additional weak C-H??-ring and C-H?N and C-H?F inter-actions are found, leading to a three-dimensional architecture. The Ru(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The counter-charge is provided by two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and the asymmetric unit is completed by three aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules of crystallization. Four F atoms of one PF6 (-) anion are disordered over three sets of sites with occupancies of 0.517?(3):0.244?(3):0.239?(3). Two aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules are highly disordered and their estimated scattering contribution was subtracted from the observed diffraction data using the SQUEEZE option in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Project description:The title compound, [RuCl2(C10H14)(C21H21O3P)], crystallizes with two complex mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The RuII atom has a classical three-legged piano-stool environment being coordinated by a cymene ligand [Ru-centroid = 1.707 (2)/1.704 (2) Å], a tris-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)phosphane ligand [Ru-P = 2.3629 (15)/2.3665 (15) Å] and two chloride atoms with the Ru-Cl bonds adopting two distinct values of 2.4068 (16)/2.4167 (16) and 2.4016 (15)/2.4244 (16) Å. The effective cone and solid angles for the phosphane ligands were calculated to be 149.5/150.2° and 25.3/25.6°, respectively. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯Cl/O/π inter-actions are observed. The crystal was refined as a two-component twin.

Its coordination sphere is completed by a chloride ligand and 2-(sec-butyl-imino-meth-yl)quinoline. The dihedral angle between the η(6)-arene ring and the quinoline Schiff base is 45.64 (9)°. The sec-butyl substituent and the PF(6) (-) anion are disordered over two positions with ratios of 0.595 (11):0.405 (11) and 0.752 (8):0.248 (8), respectively.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ru(C(7)H(8))(C(10)H(15))]PF(6), the cation lies on a mirror plane and the anion lies on an inversion center. The distance between the Ru atom and the centroid of the benzene ring is 1.706 (5) Å and the distance between the Ru atom and the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is 1.811 (5) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. The H atoms of the methyl groups which lie on the mirror plane are disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

The two symmetry-related Ru(II) atoms are bridged by two 4-meth-oxy-α-toluene-thiol-ato [(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)methane-thiol-ato] units. One chlorido ligand and the p-cymene ligand complete the typical piano-stool coordination environment of the Ru(II) atom. In the crystal, the CH moiety of the chloro-form mol-ecule inter-acts with the chlorido ligand of the dinuclear complex, while one Cl atom of the solvent inter-acts more weakly with the methyl group of the bridging 4-meth-oxy-α-toluene-thiol-ato unit. This assembly leads to the formation of supra-molecular chains extending parallel to [021].

The combination of these inter-actions leads to an unusual nearly face-to-face ?-? stacking mode. Additional weak C-H?N, C-H?F, N-H?F and P-F??-ring (tape, py) (with F?centroid distances of 2.925-3.984?Å) inter-actions are found, leading to a three-dimensional architecture. The Ru(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, particularly manifested by the Namine-Ru-Namine angle of 153.79?(10)°. The counter-charge is provided by two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and the asymmetric unit is completed by aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules of crystallization. Disorder was observed for both the hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions as well as the aceto-nitrile solvate mol-ecules, with occupancies for the major moieties of 0.801?(6) for one of the PF6 anions, and a shared occupancy of 0.9215?(17) for the second PF6 anion and a partially occupied aceto-nitrile mol-ecule. A second CH3CN mol-ecule is fully occupied, but 1:1 disordered across a crystallographic inversion center.
