[Bis-(2-pyrid-yl-?N)amine]chlorido(?-hexa-methyl-benzene)-ruthenium(II) hexa-fluorido-phosphate dichloro-methane solvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title half-sandwich complex, [RuCl(?(6)-C(12)H(18))(C(10)H(9)N(3))]PF(6)·CH(2)Cl(2), the ruthenium(II) ion is four-coordinated by a chloro, a hexa-methyl-benzene and a bidentate N,N'-chelating di(pyridin-2-yl)amine ligand. In the crystal, the amino N-H group forms a hydrogen bond with the chloro ligand of a neighbouring complex, thus forming chains along the b axis. Weak inter-molecular C-H?F and C-H? Cl contacts are also observed.

Project description:Dimeric mol-ecules of the title compound, [Ru(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(18))(2)], are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The hexa-methyl-benzene rings are in an ?(6)-coordination to the ruthenium centres, which are bridged by two chloride ligands. In addition, the ruthenium centres are bonded to another chloride ligand. The aromatic rings and the Ru(2)Cl(2) four-membered ring enclose a dihedral angle of 55.85?(6)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [RuCl(C(10)H(14))(C(14)H(16)N(2))]PF(6), the aromatic ring of the isopropyl-methyl-benzene fragment shows an ?(6)-arene coordination to the ruthenium atom. Its coordination sphere is completed by a chloride ligand and 2-(sec-butyl-imino-meth-yl)quinoline. The dihedral angle between the ?(6)-arene ring and the quinoline Schiff base is 45.64?(9)°. The sec-butyl substituent and the PF(6) (-) anion are disordered over two positions with ratios of 0.595?(11):0.405?(11) and 0.752?(8):0.248?(8), respectively.

Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(?-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(?(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ?). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891?(7)-2.2018?(8)?Å and 107.10?(3)-110.56?(3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H?Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Project description:The crystal structure of a racemic mixture of the title ruthenium(II) complex, [RuCl(C(30)H(30)O(2)P(2))(2)]CF(3)SO(3)·2CH(2)Cl(2), reveals that the coordination geometry about the coordinatively unsaturated metal centre is approximately trigonal-pyramidal, with the chlorine atom occupying one of the equatorial positions. The axial Ru-P bonds are longer than the equatorial Ru-P bonds and there is an acute P-Ru-P angle.

The carbonate ligand bridges three half-sandwich cyclo-ruthenated fragments, each of them exhibiting a pseudo-tetra-hedral geometry. The configuration of the Ru atoms is S. The naphthyl groups of the enanti-opure cyclo-ruthenated benzylic amine ligands point in the same direction, adopting a propeller shape.

Project description:The cationic complex in the title compound, [RuCl(C10H8N2)(C19H20N3O3P)]PF6·0.83CH3CN·0.17H2O, is a water-oxidation precatalyst functionalized for TiO2 attachment via terpyridine phospho-nate. The The Ru(II) atom in the complex has a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [159.50?(18)°] of the terpyridyl ligand. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the terpyridyl and bipyridyl moieties is 86.04?(14)°. The mean Ru-N bond length for bi-pyridine is 2.064?(5)?Å, with the bond opposite to Ru-Cl being 0.068?Å shorter. For the substituted terpyridine, the mean Ru-N distance involving the outer N atoms trans to each other is 2.057?(6)?Å, whereas the bond length involving the central N atom is 1.944?(5)?Å. The Ru-Cl distance is 2.4073?(15)?Å. The P atom of the phospho-nate group lies in the same plane as its adjacent pyridyl ring, with the ordinary character of the bond between P and Ctpy [1.801?(6)?Å] allowing for free rotation of the terpyridine substituent around the P-Ctpy axis. The aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecule was refined to be disordered with two water mol-ecules; occupancies for the acetontrile and water mol-ecules were 0.831?(9) and 0.169?(9), respectively. Also disordered was the PF6 (-) counter-ion (over three positions) and one of the eth-oxy substituents (with two positions). The crystal structure shows significant intra- and inter-molecular H?X contacts, especially some involving the Cl(-) ligand.

Project description:In the title compound, [RuCl(C(6)H(6))(C(15)H(17)NS)]PF(6), the cation adopts a three-legged piano-stool structure around the Ru(II) atom with an ?(6)-benzene ligand, a chloride ligand and a 2-[2-(tert-butyl-sulfan-yl)phen-yl]pyridine (btppy) ligand. The btppy ligand acts as a N,S-bidentate ligand, forming a six-membered ring, which has an envelope conformation. The S-Ru-N bite angle is 86.76?(9)°, and the dihedral angle between the pyridine and benzene rings in btppy is 39.8?(2)°. The unit cell contains two pairs of racemic diastereomers with (S(Ru),S(S)) and (R(Ru),R(S)) configurations, in which the tert-butyl group on the coordin-ated S atom is distant from the ?(6)-benzene ligand.
