ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [PtCl2(C13H21N5)]·0.5CH3NO2, the Pt(II) atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry by two Cl atoms and two N atoms of the bidentate ligand. The (1,3,5-tri-aza-penta-diene)Pt(II) metalla ring is slightly bent and does not conjugate with the aromatic ring. In the crystal, N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules, forming chains along [001]. The nitromethane solvent molecule shows half-occupancy and is disordered over two sets of sites about an inversion centre.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C10H15)2]2[CoCl4]·2CH2Cl2, was isolated as a dichloromethane solvate and was formed in the reaction between lithium penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienide and anyhydrous cobalt(II) chloride in tetra-hydro-furan. There are two deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cations, one tetrachloridocobaltate(II) anion and two di-chloro-methane solvent mol-ecules in the formula unit. There is a slight disorder of the di-chloro-methane solvent which was treated with a two-site model [occupancy rates = 0.765?(4) and 0.235?(4)]. The di-chloro-methane mol-ecules display significant C-H?Cl inter-actions with the tetrachloridocobaltate(II) dianion. The cobalt atom of the deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cation sits on a twofold rotation axis, with only one penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene ligand being unique and the second generated by symmetry. The cobalt atom of the [CoCl4](-2) ion sits on a special site with -4 symmetry, with one unique chloride ligand and the others generated by the fourfold inversion axis.

Project description:The solvated title compound, [ZnCl2(C20H17BrN2)]·0.5CH2Cl2, comprises a bidentate imino-pyridine ligand and two Cl atoms bound to a zinc2+ cation in a distorted tetra-hedral arrangement. The chelate bond lengths are consistent with localized C=N double bonds and a C-C single bond, as expected for an unreduced ligand bound to a closed-shell transition metal cation. Apart from weak nonclassical C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds between the complex mol-ecules and the disordered solvent mol-ecules (occupancy = 0.5), no further significant inter-molecular inter-actions are observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PdCl(C9H12NSe)(C18H15P)], contains two independent mol-ecules. In both cases, the Pd(2+) cations are coordinated by the Se and N atoms of the chelating bidentate 2-[(di-methyl-amino)-meth-yl]benzene-seleno-late ligand. The chloride ligand lies trans to selenium and the tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand is trans to nitro-gen. The Pd-Se bond lengths in the two independent coordination environments of Pd are 2.3801?(4) and 2.3852?(4)?Å, the Pd-P bond lengths are 2.2562?(8) and 2.2471?(8)?Å, the Pd-N bond lengths are 2.172?(2) and 2.158?(2)?Å, and the Pd-Cl bond lengths are 2.3816?(8) and 2.3801?(8)?Å. The square-planar coordination around one Pd(2+) cation is less distorted than that around the other.

In the crystal structure, inversion dimers are formed via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bond inter-actions, resulting in chains parallel to the [001] direction. The benzene rings within the chains show π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.801 (3) Å] and neighbouring chains inter-act via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [PtCl(C14H23N5)]Cl·2H2O, is isomorphous with the Pd(II) compound characterized previously [Mendoza, Bernès & Mendoza-Díaz (2006 ▶). Acta Cryst. E62, m2934-m2936]. The angle between pyrazole mean planes in the main ligand is 88.3 (4)°, similar to that observed in the Pd(II) analogue [87.62 (11)°]. This tridentate ligand adopts a conformation approximating a twofold symmetry, allowing its coordination to the metal atom, together with a chloride ligand, in an almost perfect square-planar geometry. A chloride anion and two water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit form a hydrogen-bonded network connected to the complex mol-ecules in the crystal via the NH amine groups, forming chains along [100].
