Acetonitrile-{3-[bis-(2-pyridyl-methyl-?N)amino-?N]propanol-?O}(perchlorato-?O)copper(II) perchlorate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(C(2)H(3)N)(C(15)H(19)N(3)O)]ClO(4), the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by three N atoms and a hydroxyl-O atom of the tetra-dentate ligand, an O atom of a perchlorate ion and an N atom of an acetonitrile ligand giving a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral environment around the copper(II) atom. There is an offset inter-complex face-to-face ?-? inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.718?(2)?Å] involving one of the pyridine rings of the ligand as well as an intra-complex O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-action between the coordinated hydroxyl group of the ligand and the perchlorate counter-ion.

The perchlorate anion is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.53?(2) and 0.47?(2). Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(13)N(3))(C(2)H(3)N)], the Cu(II) atom is six-coordinate in a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral geometry, with coordination by the tridentate chelating ligand, an acetonitrile mol-ecule, and two axial perchlorate anions. The tridentate ligand bis-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine chelates meridionally and equatorially while an acetonitrile mol-ecule is coordinated at the fourth equatorial site. The two perchlorate anions are disordered with site occupancy factors of 0.72/0.28. The amine H is involved in intra-molecular hydrogen bonding to the perchlorate O atoms and there are extensive but weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(5)H(4)N(4)S(4))(2)(C(2)H(3)N)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N}(n), the Cu(II) atom occupies a crystallographic inversion centre and is six-coordinated by six N atoms of four symmetry-related 2,2'-(methyl-enedithio)bis-(1,3,4-thia-diazole) (L) ligands and two acetonitrile mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The ligand L adopts an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging the Cu atoms via translation symmetry, forming a two-dimensional layer-like structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the layers into a three-dimensional network. The ClO(4) (-) anion is disordered with an occupation ratio of 0.658:0.342.

Project description:In the crystal of the dinuclear title compound, [Cu(2)(C(13)H(13)N(2)O)(2)(ClO(4))(2)]·2CH(3)CN, the two bridging perchlorate ions chelate to the two Cu(II) atoms in a ?-O:O' fashion on opposite sides of the equatorial plane. The Cu(II) ions display a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry (in the usual 4 + 2 Jahn-Teller arrangement), each being coordinated by two O atoms from the two perchlorate ligands, and two N and O atoms from the reduced Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, in addition to N-H?O hydrogen bonds, there are weak C-H?O inter-actions between the perchlorate O atoms and the reduced Schiff base ligand. C-H?N inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The title complex, [CuII(ClO4)(mesoPYBP)](ClO4) {PYBP = 1,1'-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]-2,2'-bipiperidyl, C22H30N4}, was prepared and found to crystallize with two crystallographically independent complex salt moieties. The metal atoms of the cations adopt a pseudo-square-pyramidal coordination geometry, where the tetra-dentate amino-pyridine ligands (PYBP) are wrapped around the Cu atoms in the equatorial plane. The Cu-O bonds involving an O atom of the coordinating perchlorate anion are approximately perpendicular to the plane. The two remaining non-coordinating perchlorate anions are involved in several C-H?O hydrogen bonds with the PYBP ligand and balance the total charge of the complex salt. The two crystallographically independent moieties are related to each other via a pseudo-translation along the a-axis direction. Exact translational symmetry is broken by (i) a difference in the conformation of one of the piperidine rings, featuring a chair conformation in one of the cations, and a sterically disfavored boat conformation in the other; and (ii) by modulation of the non-coordinating perchlorate anions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), the fivefold-coordinate Cu(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis, imposing twofold symmetry to the complete cation. The structure exhibits disorder of the anion, which was successfully refined using a two-site model with 0.810?(3):0.190?(3) occupancy. The methyl group of the acetonitrile ligand is likewise disordered, here about the twofold rotation axis in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a square-planar fashion by the two N atoms of a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and by two water mol-ecules trans to the N atoms. The coordination sphere of the metal atom is augmented by O atoms of two weakly bonded perchlorate anions, thus yielding a strongly distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions.
