ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sn(CH3)3(C7H7N2O2S)(H2O)], the Sn(IV) atom has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry, with one carboxyl-ate O atom of the 2-(4-methyl-pyrimidine-2-sulfan-yl)acetate ligand and the O atom of a water mol-ecule in axial positions, and three methyl groups in equatorial positions. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming double-stranded chains propagating along [010].

Project description:The Sn atom in the title polymeric compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(3)(C(8)H(12)NO(2)S(2))](n), exists in a trans-C(3)O(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment in the two independent formula units. The carboxyl-ate moiety functions in a bridging mode, linking adjacent triorganotin cations into a linear chain running along the shortest axis of the triclinic unit cell; the repeat distance of the polymer is half the a-axial length. In one formula unit, the Sn atom is displaced out of the equatorial plane in the direction of the Sn-O(covalent) bond by 0.093?(4)?Å and in the second mol-ecule, the Sn atom is displaced by 0.105?(4)?Å in the same direction.

The Sn(IV) atom shows a distorted trans-C(3)SnO(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination and is displaced by 0.113?(2)?Å out of the C(3)Sn girdle in the direction of the covalently bonded O atom. The ring is disordered of two positions with an occupancy of 0.631?(4) for the major occupied site.

The O atoms of one of the nitro groups are disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancies of 0.55?(4) and 0.45?(4). The closest inter-molecular inter-action is a weak C-H?O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cd(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(20)H(16)N(6)S(2))]·3H(2)O}(n), exists as a one-dimensional zigzag polymer in which the Cd(II) ion shows a seven-coordinate [CdO(5)N(2)] distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry with the N atoms in axial positions and an N-Cd-N angle of 176.94?(13)°. The metal atoms are bridged by 1,2-bis-[4-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylsulfan-yl]ethane ligands, giving a polymeric chain extending along the b axis. Adjacent chains related by an inversion center are further bridged by Cd-O bonds formed between the O atom of one of the acetate ligands and the metal atom. The five Cd-O bond lengths are in the range 2.329?(3)-2.485?(3)?Å. There are ?-? stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of adjacent polymeric chains, the centroid-centroid distances being 3.556?(3) and 3.698?(3)?Å, organizing the chains into a three-dimensional framework. This framework is additionally stabilized by extensive O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonding between water mol-ecules and the ligands.

Project description:In the title one-dimensional coordination polymer, [Sn(CH3)3(C8H6NO4)] n , the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three methyl C atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms (one symmetry generated), resulting in an almost regular SnC3O2 trigonal pyramid. The C atoms occupy the equatorial sites and the O atoms occupy the axial sites. In the ligand, the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the pendant acetate and nitro groups are 57.7?(1) and 36.9?(3)°, respectively. The bridging ligand leads to [010] chains in the crystal, with adjacent metal atoms related by a 21 screw axis. A weak ?-? inter-action exists between the centroids of symmetry-related benzene rings at a distance of 3.9131?(19)?Å.
