(Methoxo-κO)oxidobis(quinolin-8-olato-κN,O)vanadium(V).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [V(C(9)H(6)NO)(2)(CH(3)O)O], the central V(V) atom is coordinated by the O atoms from the oxido and methoxo ligands and the N and O atoms of two bis-chelating quinolin-8-olate ligands, forming a distorted octa-hedral environment. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers which are, in turn, linked by weak C-H⋯π inter-actions into chains along the b axis.

Project description:The reaction of zinc acetate and 2-methyl-8-hydroxy-quinoline in methanol yielded the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Zn(2)(C(10)H(8)NO)(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)], which has the Zn atom within a distorted NO(4) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. Methanol-acetate O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the dinculear units into a linear supra-molecular chain extending parallel to [100].

Project description:The Sn(IV) atom in the centrosymmetric dinculear title compound, [Sn(2)(CH(3))(2)(C(6)H(5))(2)(C(9)H(6)NO)(2)Cl(2)], shows a trans-C(2)SnNO(2)Cl distorted octa-hedral coordination [C-Sn-C = 157.83 (8)°]. The quinolin-8-olate anion chelates to the Sn atom; its O atom also binds to the inversion-related Sn atom, forming the dinuclear compound. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules, forming supra-molecular chains running along [100].

The hy-droxy unit of the neutral ligand is a hydrogen-bond donor to the methanol O atom and the alk-oxy O atom of the monoanionic ligand is a hydrogen-bond acceptor to the methanol O atom. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by these two hydrogen bonds, generating a chain running along the a axis.

Project description:The title oxovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(18)H(13)N(3)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl)ethanone, nicotinohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.
