Bis(1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione-?N,N')silver(I) tetra-fluoridoborate.

ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [Ag(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(2))(2)]BF(4) or [AgL(2)]BF(4) (L = phendione), the Ag and B atoms are located on twofold rotation axes. The dihedral angle between the two phendione ligands is 36.7?(2)°. The coordination about the Ag(I) center is distorted tetra-hedral (?(4) = 0.546). The crystal structure is consolidated by weak C-H?O(phendione) and C-H?F(BF(4) (-)) inter-actions. The BF(4) (-) counter-anion is strongly disordered and was modelled with two sets of idealized F atoms.

In the structure of the title compound, [Ag(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(2))(2)]BF(4) or [AgL(2)]BF(4) (L = phendione), the Ag and B atoms are located on twofold rotation axes. The dihedral angle between the two phendione ligands is 36.7 (2)°. The coordination about the Ag(I) center is distorted tetra-hedral (τ(4) = 0.546). Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), the fivefold-coordinate Cu(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis, imposing twofold symmetry to the complete cation. The structure exhibits disorder of the anion, which was successfully refined using a two-site model with 0.810?(3):0.190?(3) occupancy. The methyl group of the acetonitrile ligand is likewise disordered, here about the twofold rotation axis in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, [Ag(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(2))(2)](C(7)H(3)N(2)O(7)), the Ag(I) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione ligands, while the 3,5-dinitro-salicylate anion has only a short contact [2.847?(6)?Å] between one of its O atoms and the Ag(I) atom. The dihedral angle between the two 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione ligands is 58.4?(1)°. There is an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond in the 3,5-dinitro-salicylate anion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2), consists of a Co(II) complex cation with twofold rotational symmetry and two nitrate anions. The Co(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral geometry with the basal plane occupied by two 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione N atoms and two aqua O atoms, with the other two aqua ligands in axial positions. The aqua ligands are involved in extensive hydrogen bonding to nitrate and 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione O atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(12)N(2))[Ta(2)F(10)O], the doubly protonated 5,6-dihydro-1,10-phenantroline-1,10-diium cation is located on a twofold rotation axis, whereas the isolated [Ta(2)OF(10)](2-) dianion has -1 symmetry. In the so far unknown dianion, the symmetry-related Ta(V) atoms are octa-hedrally coordinated by five F atoms and a bridging O atom, the latter being located on an inversion centre. The two pyridine rings in the cation make a dihedral angle of 22.8?(4)°. The cations and dianions are arranged in layers parallel to (100) and are connected through N-H?F and C-H?F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title one-dimensional coordination polymer, [Ag(NO(3))(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(2))](n), the Ag(I) atom is penta-coordinated by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione (phen-dione) ligand, one O atom from the nitrate anion and two O atoms from another phen-dione ligand. The coordination environment around silver is slightly distorted square-pyramidal. Inter-estingly, the Ag-O distances to the phen-dione ligand are different [Ag-O = 2.612?(6) and 2.470?(5)?Å]. The one-dimensional chains run parallel to [101] and are further inter-connected by weak hydrogen bonds (C-H?O) and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances 3.950?(4) and 3.792?(4)?Å], forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title complex, [PtCl2(C12H6N2O2)]·CH3CN, the Pt(II) atom lies in a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement defined by an N2Cl2 donor set. In the packed structure, columns of complex moieties are stacked such that the neighboring units are oriented at 180° and laterally displaced with respect to each other. This prevents any overlap of the phenanthroline rings and thus there is no possibility of any ?-? inter-actions between aromatic rings.
