(Triphenyl-phosphine-κP)[1,1,1-tris-(diphenyl-phosphinometh-yl)ethane-κP,P',P'']copper(I) tetra-fluoridoborate.

ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear Cu(I) complex, [Cu(C(18)H(15)P)(C(41)H(39)P(3))]BF(4), the cation has a basic rigid core structure reminiscent of the framework of diamond. The metal atom is coordinated by four P atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, the distortion arising from the steric hindrance of the phenyl groups. The anion is disordered over two positions, with an occupancy ratio of 0.524 (17):0.476 (17). The cations and anions are closely packed in the crystal and are in h.c.p. arrangements.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]BF(4), crystallizes as discrete [(PPh(3))(2)(py)(2)Cu](+) cations and [BF(4)](-) anions and is isostructural with the analogous perchlorate salt. The anion is located in close proximity to the pyridine ligands with weak C-H⋯F inter-actions apparent. The P(2)CuN(2) coordination geometry is pseudo-tetra-hedral, with P-Cu-P and N-Cu-N angles of 116.02 (6) and 101.5 (2)°, respectively.

The remaining binding sites of the distorted octa-hedron are occupied by a hydrazidate (NNH(2) (2-)) and a fluoride ligand. Two F atoms of an anion are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.7 and 0.3.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(18)H(15)P)(2)(H(2)O)]BF(4), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two P atoms from triphenyl-phosphine ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal geometry. In the BF(4) (-) anion, three F atoms are disordered over two sites around the B-F bond, the site-occupancy ratio being 0.67?(6):0.33?(6). The Cu?F distance of 2.602?(5)?Å between the Cu atom and the ordered F atom may suggest a weak but genuine inter-action. O-H?F and weak C-H?F hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

The Cu(I) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral configuration by two N atoms from L and two P atoms from triphenyl-phosphane ligands. In the L ligand, the two pyridine rings are not coplanar; the mean planes making a dihedral angle of 15.3 (5)°. In the crystal, the ions are linked by weak C-H⋯F inter-actions.

Project description:The reaction of [RuCl(C(9)H(10)BN(6))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)] with benzo-phenone imine in methanol, in the presence of sodium azide, leads to the formation of the title compound, [Ru(C(9)H(10)BN(6))(N(3))(HN=CPh(2))(C(18)H(15)P)]·C(4)H(10)O, which crystallizes as the diethyl ether solvate. In the crystal structure, the Ru atom is coordinated by three N atoms of one hydridotris(pyrazoly)borate anion, one P atom of one triphenyl-phosphine ligand, one N atom of the azide anion and one N atom of the benzophenone-imine ligand in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The azide anion is almost linear [177.0 (5)°], with an Ru-N-N angle of 125.9 (3)°. There is a small difference between the N-N distances [1.200 (5) and 1.164 (5) Å], the longer bond being adjacent to the Ru atom.

Project description:A neutral W/S/Cu cluster, [Cu(3)WIS(4)(C(15)H(17)P)(3)], was formed by the reaction of tetra-thio-tungstate(VI), CuI and diphenyl-propyl-phosphine (dpp) in dimethyl-formamide. The title compound exhibits a neutral half-open cubane-like skeleton, with Cu-I bonds of 2.8056 (8) and 2.9008 (8) Å, and one Cu⋯I short contact of 3.1722 (6) Å. The W atom exhibits a tetra-hedral coordination geometry through bonding to three μ(3)-S and one terminal S atom. The three Cu(I) atoms are in two different coordination environments: one Cu atom exhibits a triangular coordination geometry being coordinated by one P atom from dpp and two μ(3)-S atoms, whereas the remaining two Cu centers are tetra-hedrally coordinated, forming the CuPIS(2) core.

The two C atoms of one of the two eth-oxy groups are disordered and were refined using a split model and site-occupation factors of 0.7:0.3. The crystal structure contains a benzene solvent mol-ecule with a site occupation of 70%.
